Since a month or so, I’ve been struggling with making a decision which I should have taken by now but I can’t decide what I should do…
It’s basically about school and if I should continue with another year of studies or finish this year and then go somewhere else.
The thing is, I am on a student visa, which means that I have to study something to be able to stay in Australia for some time. I would love to have the work & holiday visa, but I can’t get it because in Luxembourg they came up with a stupid law about a year ago that you have to have at least 2 years of university if you want to apply for the WHV …which I of course don’t have… and only 100 people can apply for the visa per year…
They have to keep the people somehow in Luxembourg haha 😂 otherwise no one would be there anymore 😅
Anyway, it’s a real struggle + the costs here in Australia are tremendous as well. I’m thinking of going back to Vienna, Austria, Thailand (to get to know another culture) or stay another year. My husband and I were also thinking about New Zealand but then again, I have to study something as well. (which I don’t necessarily need anymore, it’s always good to get more education but sometimes I just think it’s a scam)
The thing is that I want to grow my own business online and one day I want to be able to lead my own business and probably have my own makeup products and my own little shop as well. Either way, it needs time and money!
That’s why I’m currently studying Leadership & Management because it has already help me a lot! Next to my studies, makeup and working from home, I also work in a travel agency because I want to get a better understanding of how sales work in general and later on, I want to change that job and get a position that leads into the direction of management. I just want to get some experience and I want to find people who can educate me!!
I would love to have a full-time working position as a makeup artist because that’s what I am and love to do. The problem is that I can’t find a makeup artist position here in Cairns because it’s too small and in Vienna for example, there are lots of makeup artist positions available which is why I do somehow want to go back to the city. I lived in Vienna for a year it is definitely the best city in the world when it comes to work life balance! And the food OMG!
Either way, I have to make my decision as soon as possible but it’s so hard!!
I love Cairns but maybe it’s not the right time for me to stay here any longer + I also want to have a new adventure and discover new places, people and country!

I know that these are completely different worlds and everything has pros and cons, so it might be just time for something new.. I don't know yet.
