The hidden value of our land
I am so happy we bought the land we bought about 2 years ago. Even though living there is far away in the far far future, our guts felt the right thing. It was untouched for decades before we inquired the sellers. All that time nature was able to do her thing uninterrupted and build lots of top soil with a thick layer of mulch.
When you slip your hand into the mulch already after a few centimeters a fine, dense, white web is revealed. It's a mycelium web, crunching up the mulch and most likely connecting the whole assembly of plant species that grow on the property with all the plants of the surrounding. It moves and trades nutrients, sends messages and extends the root zones of all plants. It's the most valuable synergetic element we have.
