If you are a complete beginner to meditation or you think that you are meditating wrong then check out this video:
"You are now meditating, but how do you find the balance between focusing on your breath and becoming aware of your thoughts and distractions?"
Thoughts and emotions will always be there, which are considered to be distractions when meditating. Do you ignore them or avoid them or get rid of them when dealing with distractions while meditating?
Here's how you want to deal with them:
00:33: 1. Count
01:07: 2. Focus at the tip of your nose
(how the air passes in and out)
01:23: 3. Pick out the strongest thought
01:33: Ask yourself the 3 questions
(What is it? How strong is it? How long does it last?)
01:43: 4. Focus on your breath again
02:11: Take a deep breath if you have too many thoughts
Know that, "thoughts are formed in the subconscious arising to the consciousness..." so we have to become aware of them at the very beginning.
