Have you ever wondered how you can find peace within you?
There are different ways to do, but my personal favorite is meditation. To be precise, mindfulness meditation.
So, in the following, I will tell you how you can start meditating properly as well.
- Do it in the morning or evening because that is the best time to tap into your subconscious and influence it.
- Don't be too hard on yourself and do as long as you can. If you are a beginner then 5 minutes will do as well.
- If you can't do the lotus position then sit on a chair with your feet on the ground and a straight back. Try not to lean on anything. If you have back problems then, obviously, you should lean on something :)
- Have your hands cupped upon the other.
- Close your eyes.
- Focus on your breath. Focus on the way the air goes through your nostrils when inhaling and exhaling.
- When thoughts pop up then allow them to be there and observe. Give them your bare attention.
- Once your thoughts are gone then direct your attention to your breath again.
- From time to time, also become aware of your surroundings. Become aware of how your bump is pressed against your chair. Become aware of how your hands are cupped upon the other, etc.
- Be in the present.
Do this every single day in order to make it a habit. There might be days when you can't do it, but try to stick to it.
