Today i would like to share the recipe of veg pulao. I think most of us are familiar with this recipe, but there are many ways to make pulao and it taste amazing when pulao is made in different ways. This time i am going to share the recipe which i made for 31st celebration. This is all time favourite recipe of my family.
Veg pulao is a special meal which you can make for special occasions and also for normal days. This is a simple recipe which you can make easily and in less time. The one bowl veg pulao gives you lots of nutritions with mind-blowing taste.
The recipe is made with rice, choice of vegetables and some herbs. You can enjoy it for lunch and dinner.

Ingredients โ
Rice 2 cup
Water 5 cup
Oil 2 tbsp
Onion 2 chopped
Tomato 1 chopped
Carrot 1 chopped
Capsicum 1 chopped
Green chilli 2 chopped
Green peas 1 bowl
Salt according to taste
Turmaric powder 1 tbsp
Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
Pav bhaji masala/ garam masala 1tbsp
Cumin seeds 1 tsp

Process โ
step 1:
First take the rice and wash the well. Soak in the water for 10 minutes.

Other side take a big vessel and put water to hot. It took maximum 10 minutes. When the water is hot enough add soaked rice in it. Drain the whole water of rice before adding to the hot water.
After 4-5 minutes rice will be cooked. Or it depends on the quality of the rice. Check it before drain the rice.

When the rice cooked drain the water and keep rice aside for cool down.
Step 2 :
Now take Veggies According to your choice. This time i took these veggies.

Cut the vegetables finely or it's totally up to you. I prefer to cut finely so it cooked easily.


All veggies are ready. Boiled the peas separate or boiled it with the rice. To save the time i prefer to boil peas with the rice. Which you can see in above pictures.
Step 3 :
Now take a kadai and put 2 tbsp oil to hot.

Step 4:
When the oil gets hot add cumin seeds in it.

When the seeds starts to crackle add veggies one by one.

Step 5:
First add chopped onion in it.

Cook for 30 second on the low flame and add green chilli. You also can add Ginger garlic paste at this time.

Step 6:
After cook one minute add chopped Carrots in it. Cook on the low to medium flame for one minute or when carrot starts to turn soft.

Step 7:
Now add capsicum in it. Cook for some seconds.

Step 8:
Add chopped tomato in it.

Step 9 :
Alongwith add all spices in it.

Mix all well and cook for some seconds on the low flame.

Step 10 :
Now add boiled rice in it. Give it a good mixture so rice don't be break.



You can also sprinkle pav bhaji masala on it. So it gives fresh flavour.

Rice is ready to enjoy. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve.


As i said i cooked rice for the 31st celebration. I enjoyed it with my family around with bonfire. It gives a another level taste.
