Watermelon, is known to almost everyone. And loved by a lot of people, including me. But they is a kind of watermelon, that quite different, the square watermelon. Yes, square, defying the nature of watermelons existence.
Who grow the square watermelons? Japanese.
How they did it? They used a mold. When the watermelon is still a baby watermelon, they put it inside the mold. So when the watermelon grow, it assumes the shape of the old.
Why they did it? Because they can. And, they said it is for easier stacking which help a lot for logistic processes. Other reason, they said, to cope with Japan space issue where the square watermelon can fit perfectly inside the Japanese refrigerators.
How much for the square watermelon? Now, it sells for $150. $150? That is one fuckin expensive watermelon!
