Domine Eduard Osok Airport (also known as Sorong Airport) is an airport located in the city of Sorong, West Papua, Indonesia (IATA: SOQ, ICAO: WASS). It is one of the largest and busiest airports on the Bird's Head Peninsula.
It currently has a runway length of 2500 meters and a width of 45 meters which is optimized to accommodate Airbus A320 and Boeing 737NG type aircraft. The physical enhancement of the airport has been continuously carried out, especially since the implementation of the international scale "Sail Raja Ampat 2014".
Now Domine Eduard Osok Airport has a new terminal building, and the status has been raised from Class III to Class I (Main). The airport will continue to be renovated and developed to become the largest air gateway in Papua, in accordance with the Sorong City program. That is, Smart City. Sorong City Government wants to realize its vision to make Sorong as the most advanced city in the Land of Papua.
