Yeah right? "WHy should you be nice to whales?" you ask? Oh! You thought that only minnows & red-fishes need love? Wait a minute! Are you looking at whales only through the balance in their wallets?
Whales smile too!
Cummon! They are human too! Just like you and me, they eat, breath, shit, laugh, sleep, work etcz. They can be sad and they can be happy attimes. They fall in love and they hate too. Whales are not fishes, they are humans with emotions. They need petting. They need hardtalks when necessary. They even need advice.
MOST ESPECIALLY, THEY NEED LOVE!
Have you ever heard the saying,
Money is not everything?
Well, I haven't seen where it applies better than this situation. Money cannot buy everything including happiness, love, life. These guys also need basic stuff just like you and I.
AT the end of this writeup, I want you to stop judging people by the size of their wallets but rather by what they have to offer (in other ways).
EVerything about them doesn't involve the votes they will give you. Damn! They even have a life outside the steem network. Some of them have day jobs with bosses also frustrating their lives. Some of them have wacky wives/husbands that make their homes worth little comfort.
Many run to steemit as the last hope of anything close to home. What do you do? You spoil their homes too. You are all over their inbox begging. Just imagine someone coming to your home to beg when he could have easily become your friend instead.
You are not relating to them as humans who could be your friend. You are just relating to them like a bank or ATM machine or a cold-hearted money lender. Damn! That's sub-humaninty.
Its because of stuff like this that your messages could get ignored. They have seen too many similar recurring patterns that they don't even know when the great ones are happening. So they end up ignoring all messages to their inbox. Given that thats not the best solution but I totally understand.
Given that I'm not yet a whale, I know the number of inbox messages I get asking for upvotes. Some will just drop their links without even saying "hi". Very very poor attitudes. It won't take anyone anywhere.

HOW CAN YOU GIVE & NOT TAKE?
Yeah! Its both a real question and also a rhetorical one. You can actually give and not take ( from the one you gave to). See life always has a way of balancing its scales. Never mind.
I'm not saying you should use your life's savings and hand over to whales who already have enough. DOnate to them something else they don't have that much.
Perhaps TIME, ASSISTANCE IN THEIR PROJECTS, GIFTS, GOOD WISHES, BIRTHDAY Commemoration etcz. The joy is in little things that are usually overlooked. You can find the rhythm of their hearts and sing the song they wanna hear. In the end they will be happy & you will be happy too!
When you see a whale, don't beg for upvotes blah blah blah. Thats just so bleh. Nobody likes that. I can call out someone doing something wrong anytime anyday because I believe they are humans too. The same way I could compliment people doing good by virtue of humanity. You should do same. They will appreciate you more than a thousand sycophants.
Noone came here with 2 heads. We are all potential whales. Tomorrow when you finally become one, would you really like to be treated how you have treated others? Food for thought!
Give! Give!! & Give!!! again. Don't bother about getting coz you will definitely get eventually.
