A day to unwind and reconnect with peace and quiet [Eng/Esp]

Greetings, dear friends in the community. How are you today? I’m feeling good, and I hope you are too. In several of the posts I share in this community, I often mention taking a day off to do things you enjoy, and that’s because it’s what usually breaks up my routine and I find it fun to talk about; that’s why this post is about a quiet day, away from the stress of the daily grind, to enjoy a little more peace of mind; I hope you enjoy it.

Saludos, queridos amigos de la comunidad. ¿Cómo se encuentran el día de hoy? Yo me siento bien y espero que ustedes también lo estén. En varias de las publicaciones que hago en esta comunidad, suelo mencionar el tomarse un día de descanso para hacer cosas que les gusten y es porque es lo que suele variar en mi rutina y me parece entretenido contarlo; por eso, esta publicación va de un día tranquilo, fuera del estrés de la rutina, para tener algo más de tranquilidad; espero que lo disfruten.

We often think that to have a good time, we have to do all sorts of things, spend money, or plan every little detail, but I really don’t think that’s the case. One day, my friend Mariale suggested we meet up to talk and catch up. We met at a park and spent four hours there, talking and laughing nonstop, without needing much else, just the two of us, some water, and endless stories.

En muchas ocasiones, consideramos que para pasar un buen rato se deben hacer distintas cosas, gastar dinero o planear hasta el más mínimo detalle, y realmente no creo que sea así. Un día, mi amiga Mariale me mencionó vernos para hablar y ponernos al día. Quedamos en una plaza y estuvimos allí por 4 horas sin parar de hablar y de reír, sin necesidad de muchas cosas, solo nosotros dos, agua y cuentos interminables.

Something I found interesting to notice as the hours went by was how fascinating it is to take in the things around you. I mean, I’d been to that square before, but I was always doing something or paying attention to the events taking place there. This time, though, I gave myself the freedom to look around, to watch people walking by, the people who take care of the square, a dog resting there, and the peaceful quiet of the place with so few people around. It’s definitely interesting when we look at things from a different perspective.

Algo que me pareció curioso de detallar mientras pasaban las horas era lo interesante que es apreciar las cosas a tu alrededor. Quiero decir, antes había estado en esa plaza en otras ocasiones, pero siempre haciendo algo o prestando atención a los eventos que se realizan allí, pero en esta oportunidad, me di la libertad de ver a mi alrededor, ver a las personas caminar, a quienes cuidan la plaza, un perro que descansaba allí y la tranquilidad del silencio al no haber tantas personas; sin duda, es algo curioso cuando ponemos un enfoque distinto a las cosas.

My friend Mariale and I talked about what’s been going on in our lives; there’s always something new to share, a story we missed, or an update on things we’d already discussed but left unresolved. I suppose that just talking to someone, without any pressure, or simply taking your mind off things with a pleasant conversation, can definitely change your day and even your week, because it’s always necessary to stay in touch with the people you care about to escape the daily grind, and that’s exactly what this little get-together was for: to catch up on our day-to-day lives.

Las conversaciones de mi amiga Mariale y las mías iban en torno a lo que ha pasado en nuestras vidas; siempre hay algo nuevo que contar, alguna historia que se nos pasó por alto o alguna actualización de cosas que ya hablamos, pero quedaron inconclusas. Supongo que el hecho de hablar con alguien, sin tener cierta presión o simplemente distraer tu mente con una conversación amena, puede cambiar sin duda tu día e incluso tu semana, porque siempre es necesario tener cierto contacto con las personas que quieres para lograr escapar de la rutina, y así considero que fue esta pequeña reunión para actualizar nuestro día a día.

I don't have much else to add, other than to say that even a day with not much to do can turn out to be a really good day.
