Una sociedad hambrienta de odio no se conformará con un solo día de violencia... "The Forever Purge"
Sin ninguna duda que la franquicia The Purge es una que pudo desarrollar una buena idea, hasta cuatro secuelas han hecho y una serie de tv la cual tuvo dos temporadas, de todos estos proyectos solo he visto los films y los que me gustaron fueron las dos primeras películas, la primera tiene un buen toque de terror con la historia de una familia adinerada descubriendo que el dinero te hace objetivo de cualquiera, la segunda la cual es la que más me gusta, un grupo de personajes que deben sobrevivir a una noche muy violenta en la ciudad descubriendo secretos sobre cómo un grupo elite usa la purga par así retorcidos deseos, de ahí creo que todo se fue desgastando dejando el terror a un lado y haciendo que la acción tomara el control de la historia a lo que justamente pienso que la hizo repetitiva y aburrida.

Without any doubt that The Purge franchise is one that could develop a good idea, up to four sequels have made and a tv series which had two seasons, of all these projects I have only seen the films and the ones I liked were the first two movies, the first one has a good touch of horror with the story of a wealthy family discovering that money makes you a target for anyone, the second one which is the one I like the most, a group of characters that must survive a very violent night in the city discovering secrets about how an elite group uses the purge for twisted desires, from there I think everything was wearing out leaving the horror aside and making the action take control of the story which I just think made it repetitive and boring.
En esta quinta película de la franquicia, la cual me sorprendió cuando fue anunciada, cuenta la historia de Estados Unidos 8 años después de los acontecimientos que se vio en "The Purge: Election Year" (tercera película de la franquicia), el partido político "the New Founding Fathers of America" (NFFA) ha vuelto a tomar el control en el gobierno americano y eso solo significa que La Purga ha vuelto, una noche con la libertad plena para comentar cualquier tipo de crimen sin ninguna consecuencia; en esta historia veremos como una pareja de inmigrantes mexicanos deberán enfrentar las consecuencias de vivir en un estado lleno de odio hacia personas que ellos consideran invasoras o que no son iguales a ellos, deberán sobrevivir no a 12 horas llenas de violencia, sino deberán luchar para sobrevivir y escapar de la purga que desde ese momento será por siempre.
In this fifth film in the franchise, which surprised me when it was announced, tells the story of America 8 years after the events seen in "The Purge: Election Year" (third movie of the franchise), the political party "the New Founding Fathers of America" (NFFA) has taken control again in the American government and that just means that The Purge is back, one night with full freedom to comment on any kind of crime without any consequences; in this story we will see how a couple of Mexican immigrants must face the consequences of living in a state full of hatred towards people they consider invaders or who are not equal to them, they must survive not 12 hours full of violence, but they must fight to survive and escape from the purge that from that moment on will be forever.
Como dije anteriormente, las dos primeras películas me gustaron, ambas mostraban a diferentes personajes lidiando con una noche sin reglas, una noche mortal, esto era algo que me gustaba porque tenía a un gran villano cómo es el gobierno, eso era fundamental y a la vez terrorífico por las muchas posibilidades de mostrar diferentes historias de víctimas queriendo sobrevivir, pero después vimos que todo se volvió una lucha de estatus sociales y es donde se perdió el explorar la locura de las personas al saber de qué son libres de hacer lo que sea por 12 horas, ahora en este film creo que se quiso recuperar lo visto en la primera parte, más que nada tener a personajes mentalmente inestables y ver el terror que puedan causar, a eso creo que está vez sirve y muy bien el tema social, esto creo que es algo muy difícil de eliminar porque siempre habrá la opinión de decir quién pertenece a un lugar y quién no, pero lo peor es que este debate no se luche con opiniones sino con violencia porque siempre existirán los extremistas y los que se aprovechen de esa situación para poder obtener un poder.
As I said before, the first two films I liked, both showed different characters dealing with a night without rules, a deadly night, this was something I liked because it had a great villain how is the government, that was fundamental and at the same time terrifying for the many possibilities of showing different stories of victims wanting to survive, but then we saw that everything became a struggle of social status and is where it was lost to explore the madness of people knowing that they are free to do whatever for 12 hours, now in this film I think they wanted to recover what was seen in the first part, more than anything to have mentally unstable characters and see the terror they can cause, I think this time it serves and very well the social theme, I think this is something very difficult to eliminate because there will always be the opinion to say who belongs to a place and who does not, but the worst thing is that this debate is not fought with opinions but with violence because there will always be extremists and those who take advantage of this situation to gain power.
La historia es algo válido para el quinto film dentro de esta franquicia, ahora el desarrollo es otra cosa, sin duda que este film no se le puede exigir mucho porque su presupuesto es poco, pero creo que de las cuatro anteriores películas está es la más clase B de todas y para ser sincero no es lo mejor, creo que se pudo hacer cosas mejores, por ejemplo las escenas de acción las cuales son muy simples sin emoción y muchos menos suspenso, todas son mal actuados y me atrevo a decir que mala dirigidas, no me gustó para nada como se pensó la parte del caos que se debe ver en esta película lo cual creo que es muy importante, es por eso que este lamentablemente este film falla ya que el acto final decae.
The story is something valid for the fifth film in this franchise, now the development is another thing, no doubt that this film can not be demanded much because its budget is little, but I think that of the four previous films this is the most B class of all and to be honest it is not the best, I think they could have done better things, for example the action scenes which are very simple without emotion and much less suspense, all are poorly acted and I dare to say that poorly directed, I did not like at all how it was thought the part of the chaos that should be seen in this film which I think is very important, that's why this film unfortunately fails as the final act decays.
Creo que por los momentos se pierde una oportunidad de hacer recuperar lo que se perdió en películas anteriores, digo por los momentos ya que en el futuro habrá otras películas, según hasta seis más y es que cuando se gasta 17 millones de $ en producir este tipo de films y se recauda mucho más que el doble de su costo, sin ninguna duda nunca será perdida para todos los involucrados, pero espero de que por fin se pueda hacer algo que impacte tal como ocurrió hace 8 años atrás con el estreno de la primera parte, en lo personal yo vi está película con pocas expectativas y puede decir que a pesar de tener una buena historia, creo que es muy floja, no tiene buena acción ni mucho menos buenas escenas de terror, es simple y lenta y creo que es muy larga; ojala en las futuras secuelas se recupere el suspenso, el terror y la acción, creo que para lograr esto es justo contar con directores que sean capaces de desarrollar mejor todo lo pensando en esta historia y sé que es difícil cuando estás franquicias duran mucho y reinventarse es difícil, pero espero que aprovechen la oportunidad y hagan algo nuevo, que reinvente esta franquicia buscando obtener nuevos seguidores y que sorprendan a los que siempre verán este tipo de films; como consejo final les digo que si son seguidores de The Purge pueden ser que se sientan decepcionados aunque por cómo termina The Forever Purge seguro que muy pronto veremos a una América apocalíptica en dónde reine completamente el caos.
I think that for the moment it is a lost opportunity to recover what was lost in previous films, I say for the moment because in the future there will be other films, according to up to six more and when you spend $ 17 million to produce this type of film and collects much more than double its cost, no doubt it will never be lost for all involved, but I hope that finally they can do something that makes an impact as it happened 8 years ago with the release of the first part, personally I saw this movie with low expectations and I can say that despite having a good story, I think it is very weak, it doesn't have good action or much less good horror scenes, it is simple and slow and I think it is very long; hopefully in future sequels the suspense, terror and action will be recovered, I think that to achieve this it is fair to have directors who are able to better develop everything thinking in this story and I know it is difficult when these franchises last long and reinventing is difficult, but I hope they take the opportunity and do something new, to reinvent this franchise looking to get new fans and to surprise those who always see this kind of films; as a final tip I say that if you are followers of The Purge you might be disappointed, although the way The Forever Purge ends, I'm sure that very soon we will see an apocalyptic America where chaos reigns completely.
