Desde hace varios días quería participar en esta nueva iniciativa que realiza la comunidad de HIVE-CON en dónde nuevamente debemos hacer referencia de las series que marcaron a nuestra niñez; debo decir que me gusta este tipo de actividades donde la nostalgia tiene una gran importancia porque recupero recuerdos de estar en mi casa en las tardes, encender la TV y disfrutar de las aventuras de muchos héroes; la mayoría de ellos eran de series animadas y muy pocas de acción-real, solamente una que justamente une lo impresionante del anime, como son las luchas de monstruos gigantes contra un héroe gigantesco, que sabe de artes marciales y que al juntar sus manos crea rayos los cuales destruyen a cualquier enemigo, hablo del primer protector del universo, el gran y poderoso "ULTRAMAN".
For several days I wanted to participate in this new initiative made by the HIVE-CON community where again we must refer to the series that marked our childhood; I must say that I like this kind of activities where nostalgia has a great importance because I recover memories of being at home in the afternoons, turn on the TV and enjoy the adventures of many heroes; most of them were from animated series and very few of action-real, only one that justly unites the impressive of the anime, as are the fights of giant monsters against a giant hero, who knows martial arts and that by joining his hands creates rays which destroy any enemy, I speak of the first protector of the universe, the great and powerful "ULTRAMAN ".
Anteriormente, he escrito publicaciones sobre "Mazinger Z", "He-Man" y hace poco nombré a un grupo de animes que fueron importantes en mi niñez, pero nunca he escrito sobre una serie japonesa, estrenada en 1966 y que tuvo una sola temporada de 39 episodios; me refiero a u personaje icónico y ese es "Ultraman". Quiero aprovechar para hacer una aclaración y es que a mediados de los 80', en la TV nacional transmitían muchos programas que hasta nuestros padres disfrutaron en su juventud, series como "El Zorro", "El Llanero Solitario", "Los Tres Chiflados", "The Munster" y demás las seguían transmitiendo y es por eso que después a pesar de tener 20 años de ser estrenada, Ultraman llegó en un momento perfecto para la TV venezolana, digo perfecto porque en esa época pude verla e inmediatamente se convirtió en mi serie favorita.
Previously, I have written publications about "Mazinger Z", "He-Man" and recently I named a group of anime that were important in my childhood, but I have never written about a Japanese series, released in 1966 and that had only one season of 39 episodes; I am referring to an iconic character and that is "Ultraman". I want to take this opportunity to make a clarification and that is that in the mid 80's, national TV broadcast many programs that even our parents enjoyed in their youth, series like "El Zorro", "El Llanero Solitario", "Los Tres Chiflados", "The Munster" and others were still broadcasting and that is why Ultraman came at a perfect time for Venezuelan TV, I say perfect because at that time I could see it and it immediately became my favorite series.
Ahora, ¿Qué es Ultraman? Bueno, está es una pregunta lógica que seguramente se hará quien decida leer esta publicación porque no conoce absolutamente nada sobre este personaje; comenzamos con el origen de Ultraman el cual pertenece al planeta Ultra; estos seres son inteligentes, pacíficos y poderosos, tanto que se han optado a ser los protectores del universo y justamente en el cumplimiento de esa misión los ha llevado varias veces a visitar a La Tierra y una nueva oportunidad para visitar a nuestro planeta se presente cuando un grupo de criaturas monstruosas aparecen en Japón creando terror y destrucción, en ese momento Ultraman deberá unirse a "Hayata" quien pertenece a la Patrulla Científica para así poder sobrevivir a la atmósfera y mantenerse dormido hasta que en el momento preciso, Hayata con el uso del dispositivo "Cápsula Beta" despierte al gigantesco héroe para hacer frente a los muchos Kaiju que aparecerán y así derrotarlos para que la paz nuevamente reine en nuestro planeta.

Well, this is a logical question that will surely be asked by those who decide to read this publication because they know absolutely nothing about this character; we begin with the origin of Ultraman which belongs to the planet Ultra; these beings are intelligent, peaceful and powerful, so much so that they have chosen to be the protectors of the universe and precisely in the fulfillment of that mission has led them several times to visit Earth and a new opportunity to visit our planet arises when a group of monstrous creatures appear in Japan creating terror and destruction, At that moment Ultraman must join "Hayata" who belongs to the Science Patrol in order to survive the atmosphere and stay asleep until at the right time, Hayata with the use of the device "Beta Capsule" awakens the giant hero to face the many Kaiju that will appear and defeat them so that peace reigns again on our planet.
La historia es bastante simple, pero a la vez no se aleja de lo que se hizo en muchos anime del género Mecha el cual es mi favorito y por eso es que esta serie me gustó tanto de ver; me parecía genial ver una y otra vez a la Patrulla Científica hacer frente a una latente amenaza sobre alguna aparición de un Kaiju para después ser Ultraman quien aparezca usando su agilidad en el combate y el uso de diferentes poderes para así ir derrotando a cada uno de los enemigos que enfrentará en todos los episodios. Posiblemente, esto hace que la historia sea muy repetitiva y que habrá un aquel otra característica que rompa la monotonía, como por ejemplo en un episodio ver a Ultraman del tamaño de cualquier humano o cuando usa nuevos ataques o cuando aparecen otros Ultraman, cosas que personalmente me hicieron feliz al verla porque para un niño de 5/6 años de edad, eso era sumamente genial.
A pesar de ser una serie muy vieja, cuando se estrenó en el país ya tenía 20 años de ser estrenada, creo que la influencia de ver tantos anime de robots me llevo a que disfrutará de esta serie, me gustó tanto que en realidad le tengo un gran aprecio a todo lo que es el personaje que seré sincero, con respecto a los villanos que aparecen en algunos de los más de 30 episodios, no los recordaba mucho y si alguna que otra criatura, los Kaiju, que tenían aspectos parecidos, pero lo que si recuerdo fue ese gran final cuando el más poderoso de los Ultraman aparece para ayudar a quien estuvo protegiendo a La Tierra y decide llevarlo hasta su planeta después de tener una gran batalla, en mi opinión uno de los mejores finales que he visto en una serie infantil.
The story is quite simple, but at the same time it does not move away from what was done in many anime of the Mecha genre which is my favorite and that is why I liked this series so much to watch; I thought it was great to see again and again the Science Patrol facing a latent threat of a Kaiju appearance and then Ultraman who appears using his agility in combat and the use of different powers to defeat each of the enemies he will face in every episode. Possibly, this makes the story very repetitive and there will be one other feature that breaks the monotony, like for example in an episode seeing Ultraman the size of any human or when he uses new attacks or when other Ultraman appear, things that personally made me happy to see it because for a 5/6 year old kid, that was extremely cool.
Despite being a very old series, when it premiered in the country it was already 20 years old, I think the influence of watching so many robot anime led me to enjoy this series, I liked it so much that I actually have a great appreciation for everything that is the character that I will be honest, with respect to the villains that appear in some of the more than 30 episodes, I didn't remember them much and if some other creature, the Kaiju, that had similar aspects, but what I do remember was that great ending when the most powerful of the Ultraman appears to help the one who was protecting the Earth and decides to take him to his planet after having a great battle, in my opinion one of the best endings I've seen in a children's series.
Esta serie fue transmitida en horas de la tarde, recuerdo que era como las 5:00 pm y ahí estaba yo sentado al frente de la TV listo para disfrutar de las aventuras de Hayata y la Patrulla Científica, esperando que todo se hiciera más difícil para después ver cómo la pantalla de la TV se pone en rojo, para posteriormente aparecer el gran Ultraman y así salvar a todos del gran peligro. Una característica importante de este personaje es su agilidad para pelear, posiblemente eso fue lo me impulsó a tomar clases de Karate que muy pronto deje de ir porque soy malo para algunos deportes y ahora me causa risa porque justamente Ultraman tenía un artefacto en su pecho que funcionaba como indicativo que estaba débil o herido y por eso debería abandonar la atmósfera de la tierra, recuperar fuerzas y regresar a terminar con su rival, la primera vez que vi eso, pensé que Ultraman huía, pero en realidad lo que hacía era reponer fuerzas e intentarlo de nuevo, bueno yo nunca regrese al Karate, pero si practiqué otros deportes así que la enseñanza de Ultraman si sirvió en mí. El pasado año se estrenó el segundo film de una serie de tres films que son tomados como remake de este estilo de series conocidas como "tokusatsu" que son historias de ciencia-ficción, efectos especiales, kaijus, como "Godzilla" y acción y héroes como Ultraman y "Kamen Rider"; ese segundo film que es basado en este personaje y recibe el nombre de "Shin Ultraman" la cual hace un gran resumen de todos los episodios emitidos hace 57 años, este es un gran film que fue dirigido por Shinji Higuchi y escrito y producido por nada más y nada menos que Hideaki Anno, creador de "Evangelion", ese fue un gran homenaje para este héroe y para todos los que crecimos con las aventuras del Protector del Universo.

Last year was released the second film in a series of three films that are taken as a remake of this style of series known as "tokusatsu" which are stories of science fiction, special effects, kaijus, like "Godzilla" and action and heroes like Ultraman and "Kamen Rider"; that second film that is based on this character and receives the name of "Shin Ultraman" which makes a great summary of all the episodes broadcast 57 years ago, this is a great film that was directed by Shinji Higuchi and written and produced by none other than Hideaki Anno, creator of "Evangelion", that was a great tribute to this hero and for all of us who grew up with the adventures of the Protector of the Universe.
