Hi Everyone! How are you? I hope you are well.

Today I went on a tour to Muara Takus Temple, this temple is a Buddhist temple, this temple is located in the Muara Takus village area, XIII Koto District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, Indonesia. This temple is approximately 135 kilometers from Pekanbaru City. Regarding when this temple was built, historians say that this temple was founded in the 7th century, 9th century, and 11th century. However, Muara Takus temple was founded during the Srivijaya kingdom.

Muara Takus Temple was built during the development of Hinduism and Buddhism in Indonesia. It is estimated that it was built during the development of Hinduism and Buddhism in Indonesia. However, many say that the history of the construction of this temple is not very clear, meaning that there is no evidence that is able to corroborate the origins of the Muara Takus temple. Surely many people believe that Muara Takus Temple was built in the 4th adab during the Sriwijiaya kingdom, and this temple is the oldest temple in Sumatra, this temple has a stupa shape, this is part of the symbol of Gautama Buddha, the similarity of the structure of this building, almost the same as the buildings in the temples in Mnyanmar.

The name of this temple is divided into two opinions, first; The name of this temple is taken from the name of a small river that empties into the Kampar River, this river is named the Takus River. In the second opinion, it is said that the name Muara Takus is taken from two words, Muara means end, while Takus comes from Chinese, which is big, and ku means old or temple. So when we join, this temple means a big old temple located at the mouth of the river.
