Tuesday saw Diana Taurasi UConn alum and Phoenix Mercury guard become the first WNBA player to score a total of 8,000 career points.
The guard made this history at the Madison Square Garden where Phoenix Mercury went all out in a game against the New York Liberty.
At the moment, Taurasi is currently the all-time lading scorer in the game, having blasted past Tina Thompson who on June 18, 2017 boasted of only about a total of 7,488 points.
June 24, 2016 makes it almost two years since Taurasi attained 7,000 points, thereby making her the fastest player to achieve that feat.
The past 13 years has seen the WNBA star dominate the league, and in 2016, she made it into the list of the top 20 players since the league's history.
Out of all players in the WNBA, she is one of the 13 players that have managed to cart home three WNBA championships as she claimed the trophy in year 2007, 2009 and 2014.
On four different occasions, she has made it back home with Olympic Gold Medals and is also a six-time champion of the Euro league.
