In my blog I have published before photos of street art located at Barcelona.
The street art murals are quite abundant in this famous Mediterranean city.
In this opportunity I show some images of a mural that I found interesting for its composition and colors. The mural represents some kind of marine monster.
There are some points about this mural that I would like to remark:
- Notice the drainage holes of the wall and how the artist incorporated them in the composition of the painting.
- The fish of the left is a quite common fish in Spain, known in English as “goosefish”. It looks like a creature of the remote past.
- Notice that in the painting is marked “1984”. I took the photo in 2018. Is it a reference of the Orwell’s novel?

En el pasado he publicado en mi blog otros posts de murales de arte callejero (street art) en Barcelona, los cuales son muy comunes en esta famosa ciudad mediterránea.
En esta ocasión presento otro el cual encuentro bastante interesante. Lo primero que destaca es la composición y los colores, el tema es un monstruo marino.
Hay unas observaciones que vale la pena destacar:
- Nótese como el artista incorporó los huecos de drenaje del muro en la composición de la pintura.
- Observe que el pez de la izquierda es un rape (así llamado en España), el cual tiene aspecto de un ser una criatura de épocas pasadas.
- También vale la pena reseñar la fecha que está marcada en la pintura “1984”, la fotografía fue tomada en el 2018. ¿Es acaso una referencia a la novela de Orwell?
