No, you are vast and empty, free to suck up every tiny bit of loveliness the world is giving you. Touching the leaves, listening to the sky, licking the sun, and rolling in gravel. Gazing upwards with an open mouth/mind/heart, gazing upwards into the world.
You don’t need an initiation; you are the door of miracles; impressions enter you and leave as mysteries. You are wide open walking the Blood Red Path.
Behind the scenes
Sometimes all I need is the tilt of a head, then huge eyes are following. An open mouth and a light figure which is wondering about the world. While drawing the HALIEN I instantly knew that it was surrounded by a forest of birch and poplar trees, light yet like a maze of thin tree trunks. I had this memory of paintings of Klimt with their hues of gold and sky blue, stylized birch trees and a scenery which implies both wonder and a feeling of loss.
I captured the forest with fast pencil strokes in dark brown hues and complemented the landscape with the forementioned light blue sky. To hint to the unreality of this scenery I decided to paint a translucent and flat sun in a pale red which is mirrored in the red path, the main topic of this painting. For the sun I used a watercolor pencil to lend it a glazed and soft appearance.
