As we approach the end of July and the end of the #minnowuprising initiative, fatigue starts to set in but by reminding ourselves of the importance of this experiment we push towards the finish line! It has been an interesting journey of sharing with the community and motivating users on the platform to continue executing the premise of the platform which is to post, comment, and upvote.
This has motivated me because the numbers are present as minnows represent an important metric to the #STEEM blockchain as we are the most active section of the user base in most areas. If we are able to support each other to grow our Steem Power and influence, they we can drive the changes wanted by the community for the benefit of the ecosystem that continues to grow with new users and Dapps. If we are able to shifts more power to the smaller users by 1% during this initiative, it would be huge and have significant implications to the future of the platform as it would prove that the distribution of power can be influenced. For example, it could lead to more investor inflows as they see the potential of staking assets in a platform that could grow given their entry stake.
My personal goal has been to post once every day on the platform. As I have achieved it thus far, it has represented an increase from 3 posts per week. Another one of my goals which has interestingly been a challenge has been actively engaging an upvoting other minnows and smaller accounts. I have found it difficult to find content to consistently support while also consuming my accustomed content by the users I follow. Over 90% of my upvotes have been for accounts with less than 2,000 SP in the month of July. However, the benefit has been that I have found new users that I have begun to follow. I look forward to continue providing this support not only for the #minnowuprising initiative but into the future. Let’s get over the finish line!
