Back in the big time.
What a good weekend For United. Most of the matches much that we needed went the right way for us.
Chelsea and Aston Villa dropped points which was massive and then Liverpool did manage a big win but it can't all be perfect.
The most important part of it all is that United scraped another win, especially when they were not playing that well.
I said it last week but you can just see that slow lazy play creeping back into the team. They had moved away form it in the first few weeks under Carrick and played fast attacking football which was paying huge dividends but are slipping back into old habits.
Martinez is a big loss in this area as he was driving forward with the ball and spreading those lovely quarterback passes along the wings keeping things moving fast. Yoro is an ok player but isn't as confident and doesn't have that lovely range of passing to do the same.
Cunha and Mbueno were off the pace as well and stuck to small short passes instead of the threat that they can be.
I do think that the goal was coming anyway since united had taken control of the match after about 25 minutes or so regardless of the penalty.
And it was a penalty even if Cunha made an absolute meal of it but the red was harsh. No need for the sending off as it was only slight contact and the goal wasn't guaranteed if he did get through.
After that it was never in doubt but great to see Sesko scoring again and growing into his role as main striker. The boy has talent so hopefully he can keep improving for next year to really go at it.
Either way that moved United up to third which is massive after the last two years with a solid shout at the top four now.
All of the teams still have to play each other in those four spots which will definitely change the rankings again so just hope that they can stay on the right side of things.
Newcastle away now on Wednesday which will be a big challenge and one that i'm a bit worried about.
