Fear, a powerful emotion,
Gripping and troubling,
Often embarrassing and abhorred,
Yet beneficial by design.
Fear, a beneficial emotion,
That heightens our awareness,
Readies our senses,
And accelerates our judgement.
Fear, an intangible emotion,
Yet a barrier by design,
And a stepping stone for the brave,
Where courage is needed.
Fear, a heart-wrenching emotion,
Filled with unknowns
Yet conquering and dreadful,
And humbling both man and beast.
Fear, a possessive emotion,
Suddenly clinging to the body,
Tangible and sliceable when extreme,
Especially in times of grave danger.
