If you haven't already read about my sister Lucy you can read it here ----> https://steemit.com/familyprotection/@nikkijmurphy/stolen-babies-secret-closed-courts-families-ripped-apart
While Lucy's story is becoming a typical one in the UK, I am going to flip it on it's head today. As a family we weren't allowed to keep Lucy's child, my mum had worked for Social Services for 12 years, they trusted her to look after vulnerable adults, she even went through rigorous checks before starting the job, so is it any wonder she doesn't understand why she wasn't allowed to adopt her own grandchild!!
My cousin and her husband adopted two children, two sisters aged five and almost two, eight years ago. Since watching how Lucy was treated and how they took her baby, they are now questioning if Social Workers have told them the truth, about why the girls were put up for adoption. It's understandable, the sisters were originally removed from their birth mother because she was bringing different men into the home and having sex with them, in front of the children - Apparently!!
I say "Apparently" because Social Workers only removed the two youngest children, they let the other three children remain in the home! The ages of the other children were nine, ten and thirteen. What are Social Workers saying? It's OK for those remaining children, to watch their mother having sex with a variety of different men. I'd love to take a peek at the criteria for removing a child from the home because I can't get my head around that logic at all.
During the adoption process, the sisters birth mother petitioned the court, to be given permission to write the girls regular letters, the judge granted this but only one letter per year. My cousin and her husband were also ordered to ensure the girls replied to that letter. How confusing is that to a child? The eldest sister remembers her birth mother and becomes very unsettled when that yearly letter arrives, my cousin dreads it but says that the birth mother has never missed sending that letter in eight years. They now wonder, if the home the girls were removed from, was in fact such an unhappy home. Lucy was never offered the option of sending her child a letter, she even wrote to the adoption agency nine months ago, to ask if it would be possible, she has never received a reply!!
As a rule, children are normally placed with adoptive parents, a good distance from their original home. In my cousin's case, the girls birth mother only lives 20 miles away, which has restricted some of the places my cousin takes them.
The girls are very happy but you have to wonder, if they were ever in any danger with their birth mother, if it was that bad then why the yearly letter? If it was that bad, why were the other children allowed to remain in the home? My cousin and her husband now find they have more questions than answers - but nobody is answering!!!
The question has to be asked - Who is is sitting on the mighty throne deciding which families to devastate next?
