Winter is approaching and these are late bloomers in my garden. Canary bush belong to the Senecio family and are semi-succulent creepers native to South Africa. They are very easy to grow and becoming pests in Australia. Apparently, they are used in traditional medicine to treat flatulence. No idea about that one...

As for me, I need cheering up as I had a day of builders and plumbers to sort out the rusty water pipes. I need to redo all the water piping in my house as it is over 35 years old and the pipes are looking ready to blow. I'm not going to chop the walls, though, I'm just going to put copper piping on the inside and polycarb piping around the outside. Here's to not having brown water in the taps
