The Zoo is located in the northern area of the city of Maracay in the state of Aragua. It has been under renovation for several years and last week it opened its doors to the public for the carnival days, it is practically opening again for the holidays and there were many tourists, some of them curious to see what it looked like and what kind of fauna was inside its facilities.
It was a little difficult to get a parking spot, the parking lot was full so my daughter went out to buy tickets while I was looking for a spot the tickets have a promotional cost of $2 for adults and $1 for kids, they have tour guides deployed throughout the park from the beginning, it was an amazing experience.
I had not visited the zoo for many years, I really liked the new distribution of the spaces, sadly the icons of the park are no longer there, the monkey pancho, the giraffe and the elephant were very old, there are new species such as the tonina, I could observe her underwater since she only comes out for three seconds to get some air.
I loved the way they conditioned the spaces for the huge tunnel-shaped cages where you can see the birds flying from one side to the other, some of them are very docile, others stay at a distance, there is a great variety of parrots, toucans, eagles, macaw, etc.
The felines were very restless, others moved away, possibly because of the amount of people in the zoo and they are not used to it, many of them were babies.
In the farm area there were several types of animals, the baby goats are very cute, the children were delighted, the monkeys are cute and there was a very naughty one, I think that little by little more variety of animals will be added.
After enjoying the whole tour I enjoyed a delicious raspado an ice cream consisting of crushed cocktail ice with condensed milk, it was very ingenious they sold it in a cart that they adapted very original to $1 and $2.
This is a little corner to enjoy with family and friends in my beautiful city of Maracay, garden city of Venezuela.
The zoo is apparently small but it is not. I was exaustada but happy I know that they are reinagurando gradually many things will improve and more species will arrive for the enjoyment of young and old is a place where you spend a spectacular time.
