Stunning views, beautiful flora and ancient rugged landscapes
The Grampians mountain ranges found in Victoria of South East Australia. This hike features Mt abrupt of the Southern Grampians and the famous Taipan wall.
We woke up nice and early for this one to make sure we could be near the summit for sunrise.
What a great way to wake up in the morning! I commuted on this hike with two friends Tracey and Basha. Lucky for us Basha is familiar with the area being a Melbourne local and a hiking/outdoors enthusiast.
A few snaps of the trail on the way up...
The Grampians region is one of Australia's most historical wine regions. Wine production has been ongoing since the 1860's and continues today as some of Australia's most acclaimed wine. From the south you can see the contrast of land that has been developed for agriculture.
The peak of Mt Abrupt
Tracey Martinovich, a good friend and hiking partner for the day. This is the summit of Mt Abrupt and the breath taking view it offers.
A meditative snap of myself. It's easy to feel small in a place like the Grampians.
Taipan wall
Named for it's orange and yellow streaks this striking piece of rock is famous in the climbing scene for world class classic routes and a testing ground for aspiring climbers.
Lucky last we took a short trip to the Mt Zero bouldering area and Basha here is attempting to send a short but powerful climb before we finish our day in these beautiful mountains.
I hope you enjoyed this reel as much as I enjoyed adventuring it!
