I just woke up.
It's the middle of the night.
I can't go back to sleep.
I thought I would write.
I really would like
to go back to bed.
But my wife would rather
watch tv instead.
This has happened before.
I've laid there for hours.
Sometimes just wishing,
we would lose all our power.
But if that happens,
then it gets too hot.
Then both of us
would be feeling distraught.
She's getting old.
It's harder for her to hear.
She won't admit it though,
thinks she still hears clear.
If I could get her to a doctor,
she could do a hearing test.
We could identify the problem,
and make some progress.
But she refuses to go.
Says her hearing is fine.
She said the hearing to check
should actually be mine.
I will if you will,
I tell her every time.
My hearing is still good,
though not like my prime.
It's a new year.
I'm hoping she comprehends.
And will go see a doctor,
before this year ends.
In the meantime
I'll sit here on my PC.

Howdy y’all. It’s me, ninong7 aka UJ aka John. Just a short intro about myself. I am a Texan that has retired in the Philippines. I moved to the Philippines with my wife back in May 2010. I am retired from the US Air Force. The music I like is mostly Classic Country and Classic Rock. I guess you could say that I am “Classic”. I play dominoes when I can find someone that will play, I play chess, cribbage, spades, hearts, Empire Builder, Rail Baron, Acquire and a few other games. I like to write poems and stories (although pretty novice) and I love learning about history, just about any history. I’m at home on my computer a lot but if I could afford to, I’d be traveling and documenting my travels to post in my blog. I hope to get to know a lot of you through PeakD and Discord.
