Superhero movies have made us believe that good always win, not just the movies, fictional bedtime stories too, they make us believe that there is that fails before even attempting. I have been watching a political series DESIGNATED SURVIVOR starring Kiefer Sutherland, (the popular 24 Hours star), In the series, he played President Kirkman, the President of the United States of America. President Kirkman is a good man, and episode after episode i watched how he wins over every threat posed against his government and the citizens at large and that made me keep wondering, does good always win? If yes, then why does evil win in real life? why do evil men win elections? why do people get away with murder and rape? why is the world like this? Sometimes when i confront someone on something bad they did, they tell me stuff like I don't see anything wrong with what i did, that it's bad for you doesn't mean it's bad for me. Can something evil to me be good to someone else? I thought evil and good is the same everywhere. which brings me to ask,

What really is Good and Evil?
Good
That which is morally right. That which can bring peace, happiness, good health to yourself, family, friends, kin and the society. According to wikipedia, good denotes that conduct which is to be preferred and prescribed by society and its social constituents as beneficial and useful to the social needs of society and its preferred conventions.

Evil
That which is profoundly immoral and wicked. It is the direct opposite of good.

With the definitions above it is clear that Good and Evil have a universal meaning, so it is ignorant to say that the action which is evil to me, might be good to you. The competitions in society to achieve material success is making it difficult for good to thrive and that has made us accept certain practices as good. E.g the popular belief that men are polygamous in nature, so that makes it okay for men to cheat.. etc
Now back to the question, Does Good always Win? The answer is NO. Oops, I guess i answered that question in a hurry.. It depends on what we categorize as a Win. What i mean is that, If a win is to achieve the actions, goals and purpose set out to be achieved, then Good doesn't always win. for example, If I succeed in my evil plans, then good didn't win. So in our world today, evil thrives more than good. A good political leader never lasts in the office.
But if a Win is the peace and fulfilment gotten from living an upright life, then YES Good always Win. Because no matter what we do, if it's not right, we can never get that peace of mind and fulfilment that being and doing good brings.

So which Win would you prefer? That which brings temporary victories or that which ensures a peaceful and happy life?
