From the teachings of the bible which tells us that worship should be directed to God alone, because he is the ultimate who created us. In the teachings of Jesus Christ, he pointed people back to God as the only one worthy of worship. For example, in his response to temptation, he made it clear that worship and service should be directed to God alone. This highlights the strong biblical foundation of monotheism and the centrality of God in worship.
However, the New Testament also presents Jesus Christ Jesus Christ in a unique divine role, where he is worshiped by his disciples and acknowledged as Lord. In the sense of Christianity Jesus Christ is same as God because he is among the holy trinity, so when we worship Jesus Christ is the same as worshipping God himself. At the same time, some Christian groups interpret this differently and maintain that worship should be directed to God alone.
