Justamente de esos recorridos que agua pien por todas las ciudades Maracaibo, recorriendo lugares y así como también poder profundizar mucho más en la historia de los personajes históricos que hicieron vida en nuestra ciudad, así como también de aquellos lugares emblemáticos que de alguna u otra manera pueden se pueden, atesorar, en la historia esta oportunidad fue a la plaza Dolores Vargas de Urdaneta quien era la esposa de Rafael Urdaneta un importante procer que realizó grandes hazañas históricas por nuestro estado y por Venezuela.
It is precisely these tours that take us through every corner of Maracaibo, visiting different places and allowing us to delve much deeper into the history of the historical figures who lived in our city, as well as those iconic sites that, in one way or another, can be treasured; On this occasion, the tour took us to the Dolores Vargas de Urdaneta square, named after the wife of Rafael Urdaneta, an important national hero who performed great historical feats for our state and for Venezuela.
A pesar de que es una plaza que se encuentra bastante en el olvido esta está justamente situada detrás del museo del general Rafael Urdaneta, se dice que en ese lugar fue el que nació entonces la parte de atrás de dicho lugar decidieron hacer una plaza tributo a su esposa, cabe cabe destacar que dolores Vargas no era Venezolana era procedente de Colombia de una muy buena familia, esto fue lo que conllevó, que Rafael Urdaneta, y ella pudieran estar juntos y ser una familia bastante ejemplar, tuvieron muchos hijos.
Although it is a square that has largely been forgotten, it is situated directly behind the General Rafael Urdaneta Museum. It is said that this was the place where he was born, so at the rear of the site they decided to create a square in tribute to his wife. It is worth noting that Dolores Vargas was not Venezuelan; she came from Colombia from a very good family. This was what led to Rafael Urdaneta and she were able to be together and form a rather exemplary family; they had many children.
Que visite la plaza esta noche contra las montada de grama, posee diversos tipos de caminerías y espacios semetados, por donde puedes caminar, y también tiene muchas bancas en donde puedes sentarte cabe destacar, las plantas que poseen la mayoría son plantas o árboles muy grandes así como también diversas flores ornamentales esta plaza, debería ser un poco más hermosa o debería de estar en un mejor estado puesto se ve que ninguno de las personas que habitan alrededor se preocupan por ella.
If you visit the square tonight, you’ll find it’s covered in grass, with various paths and open spaces where you can walk, and there are also plenty of benches where you can sit. It is worth noting that most of the plants are very large trees and shrubs, as well as various ornamental flowers. This square could be a bit more attractive or could be in better condition, as it is clear that none of the people living nearby take any interest in it.
En el centro de la plaza hay un círculo sementado donde se encuentra una base en donde está la gran escultura de dolores Vargas, la esposa de Rafael Urdaneta, aquí podemos ver la bastante seria sobria mirando hacia el frente, con ropa totalmente de la época y podemos ver sus cabellos con diversas ondas, al ser de una familia muy importante dolores se vestía de una forma elegante por eso está plasmada así en este monumento o escultura, es muy importante saber qué dolor es falleció mucho tiempo después que Bolívar en la ciudad de Caracas actualmente sus restos mortales reposan en el panteón nacional junto con los de Rafael Urdaneta.
In the centre of the square there is a grassed circle featuring a plinth on which stands the large sculpture of Dolores Vargas, the wife of Rafael Urdaneta. Here we can see her looking rather serious and dignified, gazing straight ahead, dressed entirely in period costume, with her hair styled in soft waves. As she came from a very prominent family, Dolores dressed elegantly, which is why she is depicted in this manner in this monument or sculpture. It is important to note that Dolores passed away long after Bolívar, in the city of Caracas; her remains now rest in the National Pantheon alongside those of Rafael Urdaneta.
Por último cabe resaltar que esta plaza está ubicada en un lugar bastante antiguo de Maracaibo, como lo ves, el sector las Veritas bastante cerca del hospital de niño y del parque general Rafael Urdaneta, a escasos minutos del casco histórico y central de Maracaibo al recorrer esta plaza, pude conocer más de la vida de dolor de Urdaneta, así como de también de su esposo Rafael Urdaneta fue un agradable recorrido, nos vemos en una próxima oportunidad hasta pronto me despido.
Finally, it is worth noting that this square is situated in a rather historic part of Maracaibo; as you can see, the Las Veritas district, quite close to the children’s hospital and General Rafael Urdaneta Park, just a few minutes from the historic and central part of Maracaibo. As I walked around this square, I learnt more about the life of Dolor de Urdaneta, as well as that of her husband Rafael Urdaneta. It was a pleasant walk; I’ll see you next time. Until then, goodbye.
