As you know, I've been exploring the Montecatini area quite a bit lately, and today I'm taking you to explore a bit of eastern Montecatini, a very affluent area just off the road to Montecatini Alto. This area was once much loved by celebrities, especially for the still-operating, though less frequented, hippodrome where horse racing is still held, and also for some of the city's most beautiful hotels. Many hotels are now closed due to the decline in tourism, but the buildings where they once stood remain very beautiful.
The eastern part of Montecatini is a residential area consisting of large tree-lined avenues and well-kept houses. There are several small parks and green spaces that intersperse the houses. Unfortunately, it was a gray and rainy day. Otherwise, in my opinion, the area would have been much prettier with sunshine, especially the green areas. However, it's still a nice place to visit even in the rain. In addition to the houses, there are also various buildings, both simple apartments and more modern and unusual buildings with somewhat abstract and colorful shapes. They're not among my favorite types of architecture, but some people like them.

Como saben, últimamente he estado explorando bastante la zona de Montecatini, y hoy los llevaré a descubrir un poco del este de Montecatini, una zona muy acomodada justo al lado de la carretera a Montecatini Alto. Esta zona fue en su día muy popular entre las celebridades, especialmente por el hipódromo, que aún funciona, aunque con menos afluencia, donde todavía se celebran carreras de caballos, y también por algunos de los hoteles más hermosos de la ciudad. Muchos hoteles han cerrado debido al declive del turismo, pero los edificios donde se ubicaban siguen siendo muy bellos.
La zona este de Montecatini es residencial, con amplias avenidas arboladas y casas bien cuidadas. Hay varios parques pequeños y zonas verdes intercalados entre las viviendas. Desafortunadamente, era un día gris y lluvioso. En mi opinión, con sol, la zona habría sido mucho más bonita, sobre todo las zonas verdes. Sin embargo, sigue siendo un lugar agradable para visitar incluso con lluvia. Además de las casas, también hay diversos edificios, desde sencillos apartamentos hasta construcciones más modernas e inusuales con formas algo abstractas y coloridas. No son de mi estilo arquitectónico favorito, pero a algunas personas les gustan.
Honestly, my favorite part were the Art Nouveau buildings. This city seems to be full of them. Everywhere you turn, there are old, elegant buildings surrounded by trees. We also saw a large park with typical Tuscan trees, a lovely place to take a walk and have a picnic when the weather is nice. This area is also popular because of the many doctors' and lawyers' offices. It's still an affluent area where houses are quite expensive, and you can tell by the fact that they're almost all very well-kept villas. It's a lovely place to stroll, thanks also to the shade provided by the trees. If you happen to be in Montecatini and want to walk in a quiet, beautiful area full of green spaces and charming buildings, I recommend heading here. Sinceramente, lo que más me gustó fueron los edificios modernistas. Esta ciudad parece estar repleta de ellos. Mires donde mires, hay edificios antiguos y elegantes rodeados de árboles. También vimos un gran parque con árboles típicos toscanos, un lugar encantador para pasear y hacer un picnic cuando hace buen tiempo. Esta zona también es popular por la gran cantidad de consultorios médicos y de abogados. Sigue siendo una zona acomodada donde las casas son bastante caras, y se nota porque casi todas son villas muy bien conservadas. Es un lugar precioso para pasear, gracias también a la sombra que proporcionan los árboles. Si estás en Montecatini y quieres pasear por una zona tranquila y bonita, llena de zonas verdes y edificios con encanto, te recomiendo ir aquí.
