Today we're going to the Montecatini Terme municipal park, also known as the pine forest for its characteristic pine trees. This park serves as the gateway to the much more famous spa parks, which I hope to visit one day because they're said to be beautiful! It's a park about a twenty-minute walk from the station and is one of the city's most beloved and recommended places to visit. It's rich in history and beauty, surrounded by historic Art Nouveau buildings typical of the city. Upon entering the park, besides the beautiful greenery and tall pine trees, you'll find a historical monument dedicated to the fallen of the two world wars. Erected in 1925 by the sculptor Petroni, it's a beautiful memorial visible from Viale Verdi, one of the city's most beautiful historic avenues. The park then continues next to the town hall, a majestic building from the early 1900s, which I'll dedicate a separate post to because it's truly worth a visit, and I was lucky enough to visit the interior, which is beautiful. The park has several well-kept flowerbeds, some flowers, and inside there's a place called La Cascina, which I follow on Instagram. Apparently, the food there is very good, but the prices are high. I wonder if I'll ever have the chance to go there. It must be a very elegant place, but I can't afford it right now, what a shame!

Hoy vamos al parque municipal de Montecatini Terme, también conocido como el pinar por sus característicos pinos. Este parque sirve de puerta de entrada a los mucho más famosos parques balneario, que espero visitar algún día, ¡porque dicen que son preciosos! Es un parque a unos veinte minutos a pie de la estación y es uno de los lugares más queridos y recomendados de la ciudad. Es rico en historia y belleza, rodeado de edificios históricos modernistas típicos de la ciudad. Al entrar en el parque, además de la hermosa vegetación y los altos pinos, encontrarán un monumento histórico dedicado a los caídos en las dos guerras mundiales. Erigido en 1925 por el escultor Petroni, es un hermoso memorial visible desde Viale Verdi, una de las avenidas históricas más bellas de la ciudad. Continuing, we come across Montecatini's ancient Teatro Verdi, which I hope to visit seriously one day, and the Tamarisk Pavilion, where a sign still stands extolling the beneficial salts and health effects of the Montecatini spa. This pavilion, in a floral Art Nouveau style, is made largely of stoneware, a material never used before the early 1900s. The statue in front of the pavilion depicts Giuseppe Verdi, after whom the famous theater and the city's most beautiful street were named. Next door, we find the Teatro Verdi, a small open-air theater that welcomes illustrious guests but also contains various historical treasures. This theater, also in the Art Nouveau style, was created around the 1930s when it was called the Teatro dei Giardini Terme. In any case, the park is truly rich in beauty, including romantic little spots perfect for selfies or a first date! In the distance there's also a Ferris wheel, but it's not in operation yet. Who knows if I'll ever have the courage to ride it. I'm a bit afraid of heights. After the park, I walked around a bit to photograph the historic buildings. However, I plan to return here in the future because I also want to see the rest of the parks and the spa. There's so much beauty in Montecatini!
Además de pinos, el parque también alberga especies ligeramente más tropicales, como palmeras, que son bastante populares en Montecatini, aunque desconozco el motivo.
