Good evening, blog friends, how are you? Today I'm taking you on a tour. As you know, I now live in a city with several stations nearby. I've always been fascinated by stations, places of arrival and departure, almost romantic places to dream about. Today I had to run some errands in Serravalle. I'd never been there by train, but I wanted to try it. It's about half an hour from where I live now, and I like traveling by train, so I decided to go there by train. I was surprised to realize that although the station says Serravalle, it's actually located in a village below called Masotti. Both villages are located along the Via Lucchese, one of the main roads connecting Pistoia to Montecatini. They're transit towns, but Serravalle also has a beautiful medieval village. Anyway, I finally arrived at Masotti station. I'll tell you a little about Masotti, it's a town quite close to the city, very busy (I think that's why we put a station there too) and widely populated, a town full of activities and commerce and with a lot of traffic.
Buenas noches, amigos del blog, ¿cómo están? Hoy los llevo de paseo. Como saben, ahora vivo en una ciudad con varias estaciones cerca. Siempre me han fascinado las estaciones, lugares de llegada y salida, lugares casi románticos para soñar. Hoy tenía que hacer algunos recados en Serravalle. Nunca había estado allí en tren, pero quería probarlo. Está a media hora de donde vivo ahora, y me gusta viajar en tren, así que decidí ir allí en tren. Me sorprendió darme cuenta de que, aunque la estación dice Serravalle, en realidad está ubicada en un pueblo más abajo llamado Masotti. But now let's talk about the station. It's not big, it's a truly small village station. It can be reached by train, obviously, from one of the main streets of the village. The station sign is clearly visible, and you pass through some simple streets lined with pretty houses and villas. It seems like a very quiet area for being so close to a train station. The station is surrounded by a small, very pretty but somewhat sparse park. There are some lovely trees, and the lawn is well-kept, but there are no benches or shaded places to sit. It's a real shame, in my opinion. It would be nice to sit in the park while waiting for a train, especially under one of those tall trees. The station building is a simple architectural structure dating back to the mid-1900s, with a linear appearance typical of Tuscan stations. There are few platforms; despite the railway line connecting Viareggio to Florence (Montecatini and Serravalle/Masotti are in between) having been upgraded, there are few trains at this station, just one per hour, and even fewer on holidays. It's a small station, but I liked it. It's very clean, surrounded by greenery and a few houses, with simple platforms and a simple structure, a classic village station. Pero ahora hablemos de la estación. No es grande, es una estación de pueblo realmente pequeña. Se puede llegar en tren, obviamente, desde una de las calles principales del pueblo. El letrero de la estación es claramente visible, y se pasa por algunas calles sencillas bordeadas de bonitas casas y villas. Parece una zona muy tranquila para estar tan cerca de una estación de tren. La estación está rodeada por un parque pequeño, muy bonito pero algo desolado. Hay algunos árboles preciosos, y el césped está bien cuidado, pero no hay bancos ni lugares con sombra para sentarse. Es una verdadera lástima, en mi opinión. Sería agradable sentarse en el parque mientras se espera un tren, especialmente bajo uno de esos árboles altos. El edificio de la estación es una estructura arquitectónica sencilla que data de mediados del siglo XX, con una apariencia lineal típica de las estaciones toscanas. Hay pocos andenes; A pesar de que la línea de ferrocarril que conecta Viareggio con Florencia (Montecatini y Serravalle/Masotti están entre medias) ha sido modernizada, hay pocos trenes en esta estación, solo uno por hora, e incluso menos en días festivos. Es una estación pequeña, pero me gustó. Está muy limpia, rodeada de vegetación y algunas casas, con andenes sencillos y una estructura simple, una estación de pueblo clásica.
