My love for you is the most beautifully insane thing in the universe.
It's illogical how something this lovely can cause so much pain,
Yet I persist unhinged like a wild bull,
In a reckless haste, into the pit of your love.
Losing my footing, I fall, sometimes too hard,
Shattering my heart into bits and pieces unsalvagable.
But then, in my moment of anguish and frustration,
As my passion reaches its dying embers,
You rekindle the light in my soul with your tough,
Taming my grief with each stroke.
In your arms I'm reborn.
I bask in the warmth of your smile,
They infect my melancholy.
My infantile joy broods each day as you caress my fragile hopes,
I begin to entertain thoughts of an unending love.
Do not let me go, I whisper with a hint of fear in my voice.
This is beautiful and I never want to let go.
But I will.
When this love which seems too good to be true becomes a reality;
After you build your world around me,
To house my dreams,
I will take a detour, on a wild goose chase,
In pursuit of this restless spirit.
Maybe I will return someday afterward,
But will this love ever feel this beautiful again? I doubt.
The hole I will leave in your heart,
Will weigh a ton on mine.
I will never be able to look into the eyes again,
They will bleed with regrets.
This is madness--loving a man like me,
It makes no sense.
Or perhaps I'm planning to sabotage my happiness,
In other to gloat and live wistfully,
Missing you every day,
Until I find a reason to run back into your arms.
But till then I hope,
To prevent the inevitable,
By loving you uncontrollably.
This much I swear.

This is a poem about a young lover living in three different dimensions simultaneously--the past, present, and future. In this poem, he tries to reconcile all three phases of his life. He begins by recounting events from the past--how he fought for his love and what it cost him, which paid off at the end. Now he is conflicted by his present joy and future misery because he fears things would eventually end badly and it would be his own doing. But in the concluding part of the poem he decides to make do of the time they both have together, him and the woman he loves, and just maybe he might be able to change the hands of time.
