While riding by the lake, I witnessed a priest and a guardian attempting to feed a sick crocodile. After the beast turned aggressive, I investigated the temple pool to find the cause of its blood-red tears. I discovered contaminated remains and a mysterious liquid before using Senu to track bloodstains leading outside.

When I was riding by this lake, an animation of the side quest appeared, where I was shown a man was getting down to the lake carrying some meal for something or someone.

Then I noticed the meal was for a sick crocodile that the people around considered a god, but it tried to attack the meal carrier as it was sick. It was clear that the animal was suffering, as its movements were unpredictable compared to a healthy predator.

And the people around are mentioning it's a bad omen so a priest stepped forward to calm the growing crowd, asking them to continue to worship with faith and he promised he will try to heal the crocodile.

When the people around were guessing maybe their offerings were not enough, I had to talk to the guardian who was offering the food. He told me the priest took the crocodile back to the pool inside the temple for further care. I decided to follow their trail, sensing that there was more to this sickness than a simple lack of prayer.

Now I had to investigate the pool in the temple of Sobek to understand why the crocodile was shedding tears of blood. And I started my investigation after getting to the pool site, which was filled with the scent of incense and damp stone.

When I was investigating around, I went close to the crocodile to check on its skin and eyes while I tried to avoid attacking the beast. It was an objective of the mission to remain peaceful.

I found an animal carcass that had been chewed but not eaten, rotting in the corner of the enclosure. And there was a foul-smelling liquid mixed with the water, which could be the reason for the blood tears.
It looked like someone was intentionally poisoning the sacred creature.

I had one last thing to investigate, but it looked like the thing was not around the immediate area. It was on the other side of a thick wall, so I flew as Senu to check around the exterior of the temple grounds.

I noticed there were more crocodiles outside the temple, and there were fresh bloodstains as well, leading away from the main gate into the reeds.
I'll show more of my photographic journey of the games soon, so stay tuned to my blog if you liked them.

The screenshots are taken by me personally from my gameplay and I borrowed the game's logo from DevianArt.
