Cherry blossom festival is coming soon.The cherry blossom trees will bloom from around the end of March until the beginning of April. Each year is different, depending on the temperature. I've heard many people can't tell the difference between plum and cherry blossoms. I would like to explain the differences between these flowers.
1. Blooming Time
Plum flowers start blooming around February until March. Cherry blossoms start around March until April. The biggest influence on blooming is temperature.
2.Petal Features
Generally both plum flowers and cherry blossoms have 5 petals but the features are different. Plums petals are circular, while cherry blossoms petals have a notch at the end.
3.Number of Flowers and Position on the Branch
Plum flowers have a short flower shank and only one flower blooms in each position on the branch. Cherry blossoms have a long flower shank and bloom in groups, which is very beautiful.

ใกล้เข้ามาทุกทีกับเทศกาลชมดอกซากุระ ในแถบคันไซดอกซากุระจะเริ่มบานประมาณปลายเดือนมีนาคมขึ้นต้นเมษายน แต่ละปีก็ไม่แน่นอนขึ้นกับอากาศ หากอากาศอุ่นหรือร้อนเร็วซากุระก็จะบานเร็วขึ้นคะ หลายๆคนมักเข้าใจผิดว่าดอกบ๊วยคือดอกซากุระ วันนี้ขออธิบายความแตกต่างระหว่างดอกไม้ 2 ชนิด ว่าอะไรบ้างที่ต่างกัน
1.ช่วงเวลาการบาน
ดอกบ๊วยจะเริ่มผลิดอกบานก่อนดอกซากุระ ประมาณช่วงเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ถึงเดือนกลางมีนาคม ส่วนดอกซากุระเริ่มบานประมาณมีนาคมถึงเดือนเมษายน ปัจจัยที่ทำให้การบานขอดอกเร็วหรือช้าขึ้นอยู่กับสภาพอากาศ
2.ลักษณะของกลีบดอก
โดยทั่วไปดอกบ๊วยและซากุระจะมี 5 กลีบ แต่รูปร่างของกลีบจะแตกต่างกันคือ ดอกบ๊วยกลีบจะค่อนข้างกลม ส่วนดอกซากุระจะมีรอยหยักที่ปลายกลีบคะ
3.จำนวนและตำแหน่งของดอกที่อยู่บนกิ่ง
ดอกบ๊วยจะมีก้านดอกที่สั้น ดังนั้นลักษณะการบานจะค่อนข้างติดกับกิ่ง บานตำแหน่งละดอกบนกิ่ง ส่วนดอกซากุระก้านดอกจะยาวเวลาบานจะเป็นกลุ่มเป็นช่อสวยงามคะ
