Hello fellow battle mages, another cool battle I want to share today which is actually a couple of seasons old, time crunched and all that so it's a little delayed... 😅
Battles in Modern League where we can use a Gladiator because of the 'Are you not entertained?'ruleset is always cool, the most effective Gladiators to use in Gold League, where I am mostly active are probably Katrelba, Isgald Vorst, Relenor Cleaver and Marisol Contuma. No Quora you may ask?
Nope.. not for me anyway, she can be effective is low mana battles on battles fought in Novice and Bronze, but with higher level monsters the damage output is so high, Quora gets killed before she can heal herself.
Fina Voxom is also a really nice one but sadly I don't own her on my Modern account... 😒
In this particular battle, I expected my opponent to play Elias. Usually I would counter Elias by using a lot of magic, probably using Akane so I can make pre-emptive attacks using the Ambush ability but when I'm able to use a Gladiator, it just goes so well with Elias!
Using Elias, there are multiple options with the Gladiators I mentioned above, Relenor Cleaver is really strong but it's slow and when Commander Slade is on the front in the other team it will miss a lot of it's attacks so I didn't want to risk that, so I chose to use Isgald Vorst, and make the attack power extra potent by using Nimbledook Explorer to give it two more Armored Attack.
The other team has a serious line-up mistake in my opinion by the way, can you spot it??
I would have put to Silvershield Sentry with the Bullwark ability in position three so it protects Venka.
The battle started well for me, Contuma missed both of her strikes even with her high speed, Commander Slade was just a little faster. By the end of round 1 however, Slade was already stripped of all it's armor. He didn't need it for Armored Strike this battle but it does mean he's more easily killed now.
Venka killed my Commander Slade but the entire front of the other team collapsed, and Isgald has killed two times now, with every kill giving more power to both her melee as well as Armored Strike attack.
By the end of round 3, only Venka was left, without a chance of surviving the next round, and with Isglad now being the fastest unit on the battlefield, she made the final kill, bringing her attack power to a whopping 19 damage per round, it's another win for me!
