What could be more joyful for a parent than seeing their child's little hands obsessed with building something new? My son Ian is just like that. When he sits down to play with blocks, he feels lost in another world.
In today's digital age, where children are trapped in mobile screens, I am filled with joy when Ian makes toys of various shapes with these colorful blocks. Sometimes he makes skyscrapers, sometimes strange cars, and sometimes some magical device of his own imagination.
Playing with blocks is not just a waste of time, it plays a great role in the child's mental development:
Imagination: He creates a picture in his mind and tries to make it a reality.
Patience and concentration: It takes a lot of patience to arrange the desired toy by arranging the blocks one by one.
Problem-solving skills: When a block doesn't fit or breaks, he finds a way to fix it himself.
I always believe that children should be allowed to spread their creativity, not just confined to reading books. When Ian comes running to me screaming with joy with a new toy he has made, that joy is greater than anything else in the world.
Pray for my little Ian, that he can become a craftsman like this when he grows up. Maybe these small efforts of his will lead him to something much bigger one day.
