Hola de nuevo! Hoy les traigo un nuevo post bastante genial, esta vez hablando de una saga de películas de la que siempre he querido hablar, Crepúsculo. Tengo mucho tiempo sin publicar por aquí, y eso es debido a que no he tenido mucho tiempo desde hace unos años, realmente no tenía tiempo para a sentarme a escribir con calma las reseñas de películas que tanto adoro hacer, ya que trabajo y estudio, sin embargo me planteé como meta poster más seguido como lo hacía antes. Hace unos 4 años me vi una maratón de Crepúsculo con mi novio, me vi todas las películas y la verdad, es que quedé fascinada. Sin embargo, la vi de manera irónica, porque para mí estas películas son para verlas así y en su momento cuando se estrenaron no las vi. Sí recuerdo a un montón de amigas obsesionadas con esta saga de películas y sus libros, y aunque en su momento nunca entendí el por qué de eso, en la actualidad me meto en la mente de una adolescente de 14 años de los 2000s, y lo comprendo, así que hoy les hablaré sobre la primera entrega de esta emblemática saga de películas, comencemos!
Hello again! Today I’m come to you with a pretty awesome new post, this time about a movie series I’ve always wanted to talk about: Twilight. It’s been a long time since I’ve posted here, and that’s because I haven’t had much time over the past few years, I really didn’t have time to sit down and calmly write the movie reviews I love so much, since I’m working and studying. However, I’ve set a goal to post more often, just like I used to. About four years ago, I did a Twilight marathon with my boyfriend, I watched all the movies, and honestly, I was fascinated. However, I watched them with a bit of irony, because for me, these movies are meant to be watched that way, and I didn’t see them when they first came out. I do remember a bunch of friends who were obsessed with this movie series and its books, and although I never understood why back then, now I put myself in the mind of a 14 year old girl from the 2000s, and I get it. So today I’m going to talk to you about the first installment of this iconic movie series, let’s go!

La primera película fue estrenada en el año 2008 y está basada en una novela del mismo nombre cuya autora es Stephenie Meyer. La película gira entorno a Bella Swam, interpretada por Kristen Stewart, una adolescente que muda con su papá a un pueblo pequeño y alejado llamado Forks. Allí se reencuentra con un viejo amigo, Jacob Black (interpretado por Taylor Lautner) y también va a una nueva escuela. Hace amigos fácilmente, pero cuando están en el comedor se topa con una familia muy peculiar, los Cullen. Al entrar a una de sus clases le toca sentarse con uno de ellos, Edward Cullen (interpretado por Robert Pattinson), y parece estar tan repugnado por ella que se va e incluso, falta varios días a clase luego de eso, sin embargo regresa y actúa como si nada con Bella. Un día Bella está en el estacionamiento de su escuela y casi es atropellada por una camioneta, de no ser porque Edward Cullen la salva mostrando una fuerza y rapidez sobrehumana que deja a Bella sospechando sobre quién es ese extraño chico, pero él le dice que no se le acerque. Al hablar con Jacob sobre los Cullen, este le dice que ellos y su familia prácticamente son enemigos.
The first film was released in 2008 and is based on a novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer. The film centers on Bella Swan (played by Kristen Stewart), a teenager who moves with her father to a small, remote town called Forks. There, she reunites with an old friend, Jacob Black (played by Taylor Lautner), and starts attending a new school. She makes friends easily, but when she’s in the cafeteria, she runs into a very peculiar family, the Cullens. When she enters one of her classes, she ends up sitting next to one of them, Edward Cullen (played by Robert Pattinson), and he seems so repulsed by her that he leaves and even skips class for several days after that; however, he returns and acts as if nothing happened with Bella. One day Bella is in her school’s parking lot and is almost hit by a truck, but Edward Cullen saves her, displaying superhuman strength and speed that leaves Bella wondering who this strange boy is, though he tells her not to come near him. When she talks to Jacob about the Cullens, he tells her that they and his family are practically enemies.
Después de otro incidente donde Edward salva a Bella, ella se da cuenta de que tiene características de vampiro, así que se pone a investigar exhaustivamente sobre esos seres. Un día Bella confronta de manera definitiva a Edward, y este le admite que es un vampiro, diciéndole que no consume sangre de humanos, demostrándole sus habilidades sobrehumanas y que bota escarcha cuando está bajo la luz del sol. Durante todo esto, Bella no deja de pensar en Edward y que siente que la ve desde la ventana de su habitación. Un día Edward lleva a Bella a su casa presentándoles a su familia, demostrando que tienen muchos años siendo vampiros y que suelen mudarse con frecuencia. Mientras tanto en el pueblo están ocurriendo muertes extrañas que parecen ser hechas por animales salvajes, pero en realidad son causadas por tres vampiros, Victoria, James y Laurent. Un día estos 3 vampiros se topan con los Cullen y Bella que estaban en un partido de béisbol amistoso y James queda encantado con el olor de Bella.
After yet another incident in which Edward saves Bella, she realizes he has vampire characteristics, so she begins to research these beings thoroughly. One day, Bella finally confronts Edward, and he admits to her that he is a vampire, telling her that he doesn’t drink human blood, demonstrating his superhuman abilities, and showing her that he sparkles when he’s in the sunlight. Throughout all this, Bella can’t stop thinking about Edward and feels that he’s watching her from her bedroom window. One day, Edward takes Bella to his home to introduce her to his family, revealing that they’ve been vampires for many years and tend to move frequently. Meanwhile, strange deaths are occurring in town that appear to be caused by wild animals, but are actually the work of three vampires: Victoria, James, and Laurent. One day, these three vampires run into the Cullens and Bella, who were at a friendly baseball game, and James is enchanted by Bella’s scent.
James está obsesionado con cazar a Bella y la persigue sin descanso, obligando a Bella a escapar a Phoenix con Alice y Jasper. Sin embargo, James atrae a Bella a una trampa, atacándola e infectándola con veneno vampírico. Nuestra protagonista está a punto de morir pero llegan los Cullen a salvarla y se lleva a cabo una pelea bastante fuerte. Los Cullen logran someter y matar a James, quitándoles la cabeza y quemándolo, mostrando que esta es la mejor manera de matar vampiros. Pero Bella está agonizando y la única manera de salvarla es absorbiendo el veneno que tiene Bella en su sangre, Edward la salva y la llevan al hospital ya que está bastante herida. Al volver al pueblo de Forks es el baile de la secundaria y Edward acompaña a Bella, donde sellan su amor con un beso y no lo saben, pero Victoria está escondida viéndolos, dando a entender que la veremos en la siguiente película.
James is obsessed with hunting Bella and relentlessly pursues her, forcing Bella to flee to Phoenix with Alice and Jasper. However, James lures Bella into a trap, attacking her and infecting her with vampire venom. Our protagonist is on the verge of death, but the Cullens arrive to save her, and a fierce battle ensues. The Cullens manage to subdue and kill James, decapitating him and burning his body, demonstrating that this is the best way to kill vampires. But Bella is dying, and the only way to save her is to absorb the venom in her blood. Edward saves her, and they take her to the hospital since she is seriously injured. Upon returning to the town of Forks, it is the high school dance, and Edward accompanies Bella, where they seal their love with a kiss. Unbeknownst to them, Victoria is hiding and watching them, hinting that we will see her in the next movie.

Honestamente esta película me maravilló, viéndola de manera irónica. Comencemos por los protagonistas, aunque los actores que interpretan a Bella y Robert ciertamente tienen mucha química que hasta traspasó la pantalla, no puedo dejar de pensar en lo incómoda que esta actuación de Robert Pattinson en esta película. Parece que no quisiera estar allí, pone caras de disgusto y su intento de ser misterioso me da mucha risa. Y Bella ni se diga, es una chica que intenta ser rara y no transmite absolutamente ninguna emoción, parece un robot, pero no se crean, adoro estas actuaciones porque disfrute lo malas que eran. El desarrollo de la relación de ambos es un vaivén, ya que Edward es el típico chico que dice que le hará daño si está con él, y Bella siendo el cliché de chica que no le importa que sea diferente, quiere estar con él.
Los villanos no están tan mal, sin embargo me parecen muy exagerados y estereotipados, a veces no me creo que sean malos porque sus expresiones parecen muy forzadas. Necesito que alguien me explique porque toda la película tiene un filtro azul como si fuesen los inicios de Instagram, entiendo que quisieran darle un tono frío a lugar, pero creo que exageraron. Pero no todo es malo, realmente creo el ambiente del pueblo de Forks cumple su función de ser un lugar donde ocurren cosas extrañas, no todo es un romance cliché sino que hay drama y además, adoro a Alice, no les voy a mentir. La música está muy bien, recuerdo que cuando tenía entre 11 y 12 años conocí música genial que me recomendaban amigas las cuales escucharon en esta película, además de que conocí a Paramore gracias a eso. Esta película me parece muy buena para verla sin tomársela en serio, les juro que la disfruté y genuinamente me gusta por eso, me reí y pasé un buen momento viéndola, a pesar de saber que no es muy buena.
Honestly, this movie blew me away, in an ironic way. Let’s begin with the main characters, although the actors playing Bella and Robert certainly have great chemistry that practically jumps off the screen, I can’t help but notice how awkward Robert Pattinson’s performance is in this film. He looks like he doesn’t want to be there, he pulls faces of disgust, and his attempt to be mysterious just cracks me up. And Bella, don’t even get me started, she’s a girl trying to be weird who conveys absolutely no emotion, she looks like a robot. But don’t get me wrong, I love these performances because I enjoyed how bad they were. The development of their relationship is a rollercoaster, since Edward is the typical guy who says he’ll hurt her if she’s with him, and Bella is the cliché girl who doesn’t care that he’s different, she just wants to be with him.
The villains aren't that bad, but they seem very over the top and stereotypical to me, sometimes I don't buy that they're bad guys because their expressions seem so forced. I need someone to explain to me why the whole movie has a blue filter, like it’s from the early days of Instagram. I get that they wanted to give the setting a cold vibe, but I think they went overboard. But it’s not all bad, I really think the atmosphere of the town of Forks does a good job of being a place where strange things happen. It’s not all cliché romance; there’s drama too. Plus, I love Alice, I’m not going to lie to you. The music is great. I remember that when I was 11 or 12, I discovered some awesome music that friends recommended to me, they’d heard it in this movie, and I also discovered Paramore thanks to that. I think this movie is great to watch without taking it too seriously. I swear I enjoyed it and genuinely like it for that reason, I laughed and had a good time watching it, even though I know it’s not that great.
