Hello, everyone.
Truth be told, even before I tried making some money for myself, I realized that making money is really not easy. It takes a lot of consistency, determination, and persistence before one can actually make some money for themselves. My first experience was not funny, and if not for motivation from friends and also the plans I had in place, I would have quit the job without wasting time. Growing up as a kid, I really wanted to become an adult so that I will have the money to buy anything that I want, but I never thought about the type of stress I had to undergo before I have the money to buy whatever I want as an adult. As a kid, I envied adults, but now I wish I let myself enjoy childhood and not always wish to grow up and become an adult.

My first money-making experience was a bit forced on me. After we graduated high school, my friends and I acquired smartphones we used to keep ourselves busy. We chat on social media and watch videos, but what really keeps us going is when we come together to play multiplayer games like Mini Militia. All my needs were catered for by my parents, so I really did not feel the need to work. One fateful day my phone fell off my hand and hit the ground so badly that it got bad. As a result of how glued everyone is to their phones, you cannot expect anyone to let you have theirs for even 5 minutes, and they want it back. Then the need to either get my phone fixed or get a new one.
My parents had a lot on their table, and I knew my need would come later, which would take a whole lot of time, hence the need to make some money for myself. Just out of high school, and results were not yet out, so it was impossible to get a white collar job since I don't even have a result yet. I had to opt in for manual labor jobs since I was desperate. My first day at the construction site was hell for me. I have never in my life mixed cement or learned how it's done, but on reaching the construction site, I was assigned to join those who mix concrete for casting since all the other light jobs were taken. I was happy; at least I got a job, and it was a step towards achieving my dream of getting my phone fixed.
We worked from 8am-5pm, and I was paid 3,000 naira ($2). Though it was stressful, but my pay eased all my stress. I was the happiest person on earth that day. I started calculating how close I was to my dream, and if I got paid such an amount every day, then it wouldn't take long before I achieved my goal of coming to work. My joy knew no bounds. I slept that night, and the next morning I could not move my legs like I used to; all my muscles hurt, and if I moved anyhow, they hurt more, and I had to take medications to ease the pain. Indeed, making money is really not easy.
