Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog. Crisis and running helter-skelter from time to time is as old as man, and it is not different in my country, Nigeria. The country has been through a lot alongside the people. The level of insecurity in the country increases with every passing day, from threats to lives to threats to properties, and somehow people start to feel like it is a wrong choice to even invest in a country like this one since nothing is safe, not lives and not properties.

One mistake we have made as people of this country is believing and depending completely on the government, hoping that they will give us all the protection that we need, but they have failed woefully. Just last week, a nationwide protest was organized, and many feared history was about to repeat itself again because the last time a nationwide protest was organized, there was bloodshed, and many refused to be part of this one, even though there was a need for every citizen to come out in mass and protest since the bad and harsh economy is telling on everybody.
If I were asked this question and asked to be completely sincere, I would say my country is not safe at all; no region's or state's is completely free. My mom came back yesterday and was telling stories about how a whole bus with all 18 passengers was kidnapped on the same route she plied to the market and ended her story by saying that going out and coming back home every day in this country is an underrated blessing. Currently, in my country, moving about is risky, staying at home is risky, as danger looms and tends to find you anywhere.
The part of the country where I live with my family used to be safe to some extent, but lately there have been reports of kidnappings on the highway nearby, and it is funny how they do this in broad daylight to show you how insecure the country has become and how lowly these people see our security personnel. Gone are the days where you just left the house without making a phone call and asking questions to know if it was safe to be on the road or not.
I will be completely honest with anyone and everyone. My country, with recent happenings, is really not a place you would like to be, so no, I will not recommend my country to even an enemy. Bad government has turned the country into a living hell; things just keep getting worse. A single man accumulates all the wealth for himself and his generations to come while other people suffer. I don't blame those who do everything possible to leave the country; it is becoming unbearable for all, and many are looking for escape routes.
