As the spread of covid-19 is gradually declining activities in certain regions are getting back to normal and people are resuming back to work but things are not the way they used to be just yet, the question that has remained on the lips of so many people is why we had the spread of this deadly virus very high in some countries and low in other countries. Even different states in the same country seem to be counting different rates of infections and death, the difference in countries may be quite understandable but what about the different rate of infection in the same country. The United States of America seem to have a very high infection recorded rate but there are states in America where there is a higher level of infection than others. Every country has what we can describe as: the rural and urban region even if this description varies through various countries, the rural regions have been beaten harder than the urban regions in America.
The Spread of Covid-19 through Rural and Urban Regions.
Those who stay in the rural regions in America are usually low income earners who cannot really afford good buildings and the houses they live in is usually over populated, 5-6 people may be living in one room in a rural region while just one person or two people may occupy one building in urban regions, the virus spread through contact and this only means that those who live in the rural areas will get more infected.
Those living in rural regions do not have the capacity to work from home and most of them are basically frontline workers who may need to get to work now that the lockdown has been eased, the contact they get through boarding train may result in more infection cases daily compared with those who live in urban regions and have their cars to move with.
Those who live in rural areas do not get constant access to health care facilities which gives room to having one health problem or the other, by the time covid-19 gets into the picture, it blows the entire thing out of proportion and there is loss of life unlike someone who constantly goes for medical check-ups and is eating well, the impact of covid-19 will be reduced in such cases.
Immediately the spread of the virus became a reality, emergency hospitals were set up and these emergency hospitals were located in the urban areas while the rural areas were only promised one.
This might be a wrong way to do things but that is the sad reality of the world we live in, there is a segregation in class and covid-19 came to elaborate that point.
