Ayer les comentaba sobre mi regreso a Hive Blog donde hice una pintura gigante, y hoy quiero compartirles la segunda pintura gigante, que completa la experiencia de lo que fue la escenografía para la obra de Navidad 2025 por los niños de mi iglesia. En esta ocasión les enseñaré como pinté la fachada para una posada antigua 😄🫶
Yesterday I told you about my return to Hive Blog where I did a giant painting, and today I want to share with you the second giant painting, which completes the experience of what the set design for the 2025 Christmas play by the children of my church was like. This time, I'll show you how I painted the facade for an old inn
✨ MANOS A LA OBRA
Para el inicio de la gran pintura, pueden ver acá los básicos. Realizar esta posada fue mucho más sencillo que pintar el pesebre, el boceto inicial fue muy sencillo, sólo necesité hacer líneas rectas con mi buen escalímetro.
✨ LET'S GET STARTED
To begin the large painting, you can see the basics here. Making this inn was much easier than painting the manger. The initial sketch was very simple; I just needed to draw straight lines with my good ruler.
✨ LA PINTURA
Aquí no hice uso de capas blancas de base. Usé directamente los colores, en su mayoría eran colores oscuros u opacos y no ameritaban el realce que brinda la capa blanca.
✨ PAINTS
Here I did not use white base coats. I used the colors directly, most of which were dark or opaque and did not require the enhancement provided by the white coat.
✨ LA DESGRACIA
Y así iba avanzando mientras todo tomaba forma poco a poco, hasta que sucedió la desgracia 🤣🤣🤣 justo cuando dejé el pincel en la mesa para ir un momento al baño, la pintura se despegó del tablón y cayó al suelo, arrugándose y debilitándose. Gracias a Dios no sufrió grandes daños, sólo se manchó un poco en la parte del suelo, lo cual no fue problema porque quedaban como detalles del piso.
✨ THE MISFORTUNE
And so I progressed as everything gradually took shape, until disaster struck 🤣🤣🤣 Just as I put my brush down on the table to go to the bathroom for a moment, the painting came loose from the board and fell to the floor, crumpling and weakening. Thankfully, it didn't suffer any major damage, just a few stains on the floor, which wasn't a problem because they looked like details of the floor.

Y así procedí. Con ayuda volví a pegar el papel kraft en el tablón, y de vuelta a lo mío 🎨🖌️

And so I proceeded. With help, I reattached the kraft paper to the board, and went back to my work 🎨🖌️
✨ EL DELINEADO
Ya saben que el delineado indica la parte final del proceso de la pintura 🖤 Así fui realizándoselo a las piedras del techo, la madera, puerta, macetas, rocas y plantas 🪴
✨ THE OUT-LINE
You already know that the outline marks the final stage of the painting process 🖤 So I went about doing it on the ceiling stones, the wood, the door, the flower pots, the rocks, and the plants 🪴
✨ EL TOQUE FINAL
Y así quedó todo bonito y prolijo, pero faltaba la cereza del pastel. Me gusta trabajar inteligentemente, así que imprimí un cartel que dijera POSADA con fondo que emulara la madera y la impresión se realizó a color sobre papel. Delineé con pintura negra el borde para que tuviese armonía con el resto de la obra, y luego delineé con marcador el borde de las letras para que se leyeran mejor desde lejos ✏️
✨ THE FINISHING TOUCH
Everything looked nice and neat, but the cherry on top was missing. I like to work smart, so I printed a sign that said POSADA with a wood-like background, and the printing was done in color on paper. I outlined the edge with black paint to match the rest of the work, and then I outlined the edges of the letters with a marker so they would be easier to read from a distance ✏️
✨ EL RESULTADO
Acá pueden apreciar el resultado final de la posada y como queda en conjunto con el pesebre que les enseñé ayer 🥰 todo hecho con mucha ilusión y mucho esfuerzo. Me encontré feliz de realizar este trabajo, venía de una temporada muy larga sin pintar y justo hice mi catarsis con obras muy muy grandes jeje 🎨🖌️
✨ THE RESULT
Here you can see the final result of the inn and how it looks together with the nativity scene I showed you yesterday 🥰, all made with great enthusiasm and a lot of effort. I was happy to do this work, as I had gone a long time without painting and I just did my catharsis with very, very large works, hehe 🎨🖌️
El púlpito del templo, que sirvió de escenario para la obra, se dividió en 3 secciones: la posada, el pesebre y la sala de una casa de la actualidad, donde una familia conocía la historia del nacimiento de Jesús por una visitante que les contaba.
The pulpit of the temple, which served as the stage for the play, was divided into three sections: the inn, the manger, and a room in a modern house, where a family learned the story of Jesus' birth from a visitor who told them about it.
