What is a church ? and how is it related to food you may want to ask. I decided to write this article to emphasize a very sacrosanct statement postulated by the lord Jesus while he walked the earth.so when they had dined Jesus saith to simon peter, simon,son of Jonas,lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea lord;thou knowest that i love thee. He saith unto him, FEED my lambs. He saith unto him again the second time, simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than this? He saith unto him, Yea,lord; thou knowest that i love thee, He saith unto him, FEED my sheep. John 21:15-16
My emphasis on this subject is the very word feed which the lord reiterated to peter even to the third time. Peter being the leader of the apostles was commanded to feed the flock of God. What was the lord implying and what was the substance for the feeding. The flock of Christ signified his people, his church which he told the apostle to feed and the substance serving as food in this case is the word of God.
WHAT IS FOOD
Food is a substance taken in by man,plant and animals for growth and development. Material consisting essentially of protein, carbohydrate, and fat used in the body of an organism to sustain growth, repair, and vital processes and to furnish energy. What a definition, the word of God is that substance that guarantees the all round growth and development of a believer, the word of God is the substance for growth. The prophet Jeremiah said in his own words, Thy words were found and i did eat them and thy word was unto me the joy and the rejoicing of my heart: for i am called by thy name oh lord of hosts. Jeremiah 15:16
This was the very essence of the word, not to be read alone or listened to but to be eaten, the very verb attributed to the substance called food. Many a believer have no idea that the only way they will ever grow and develop beyond were they are is to consume food (the word). There is no growth without the eating of the word. THE CHURCH IS THE HOUSE OF FOOD, the divine eatery were we grow and improve upon our spirit and soul. Brethren this is non negotiable as no one can grow and advance in the spirit without the food of the spirit. The church is a Divine eatery. There is no need for a church when the flocks are not growing and not being improved upon. *** And he gave some, apostles ,and some prophets and some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers. For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come in the unity of faith, and of the knowledge of the son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,that we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive. But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ***. Ephesians 4:11-15. It's impossible to grow into stature without food. Jesus said i will build my church, but with what ? The word (Divine food). The apostle paul said, And now brethren ,I commend you to God,and to the word of his grace , which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which ate sanctified Acts 20:32. Many believers have always questioned why they are not seeing their inheritance in Christ. The answer is you have not been built. probably you haven't been eaten or you haven't been eating right.
APPETITE FOR FOOD
Honey do you have appetite for food (the word) ?. It is deemed abnormal and unhealthy for a child to choose not to eat or to have no appetite for food as it will affect the growth, development process and general well being of the child. So much so it is abnormal and inconsistent with the life of the spirit for a believer to loose appetite for the food of the spirit (the word). Many a believer go to the divine eatery of God and eat nothing , we are so carried about by the jamborees and activities going on that we skip the most vital meal of the service. As a result there is undergrowth in our spiritual life while others have been malnourished by unbalanced diet and as a result are stunted in their growth and development. Until there is appetite for food, there is no consumption. when you go to a church, either you local church or 
ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE FOOD (WORD)
The psalmist began to say, i rejoice at thy word as one that findeth great spoils. Psalm 119: 162. The word to him was a great treasure as the spoils of a victorious battle. At the hearing of it he rejoiced. What is your attitude towards the word ? When you attend your local church,
Honey if you must be the best of what God expects you to be then you must raise your appetite and begin to feed on the word.
ARISE AND EAT FOR THE JOURNEY TO YOUR DESTINY IS FAR.
