Hello everyone! This is my second entry for this week's Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. Today I'm sharing a battle of mine in Modern Diamond Ranked.
I fought an interesting battle in Modern Diamond ranked. Kelya Frendul is the best rare Chaos Legion summoner. Possibilus the Wise is not the best legendary Chaos Legion summoner but it is certainly better than it looks. Usually, summoner abilities are or can be useful for most or even the whole team (excluding Tactics). Reach is only useful for the second unit. You can put more melee units behind the second but that just means they'll be there doing nothing until some of your units are killed. Trample can be useful for back melee units with Sneak or Opportunity, but it's likely to be better for the first 2 units. +2 HP isn't that impressive. This is all in theory. In practice, Reach and Trample work very well together. Water has some massive monsters like Diemonshark, Coastal Sentry, and Commander Slade. Neutral has Arkemis the Bear and Mantaroth. They work very well, especially when put together. It's good to place the one you want to survive longer in the second spot. Kelya is simpler but great. +1 Speed and +1 Armor. Speed is always good, except for Reverse Speed. The first armor stat is the most important one. Having said all of this, it's often a difficult choice between the 2 summoners, especially in higher mana battles. In low mana, Kelya is usually better but, at a certain point, the 2 mana don't matter much. The choice often comes to choosing between the extra speed or wanting the Reach.

This game has the following rule sets: Beefcakes, Armored Up, and Noxious Fumes. I went with Kelya and put Mantaroth in front. I followed it with a trio of Weapons Training consisting of Grimbardun Smith being trained by Kulu Mastermind in front and Daarg Deadblast in the back. For the last 2, I used Anasth Soothsayer and Deeplurker. They opted for Possibilus and used the classic Arkemis the Bear plus Mantaroth combo. They placed Anasth Soothsayer, Supply Runner, and Swamp Spitter next. They finished the team with the Taunt unit Wave Brood.
We had to wait for round 2 to see a unit die: Wave Brood. My Mantaroth went down to 1 HP, though. In round 3, they finished my Mantaroth but I was able to kill Supply Runner with Deeplurker. They killed my Kulu, in round 4. After the Poison, I lost Deeplurker. In the following round, I was able to deal with the Bear, but their Mantaroth eliminated my Daarg with the Blast damage. After the Poiso, they were down to only Mantaroth at 4 HP. Since both my units attacked first and they had exactly 4 magic damage total, the game ended in round 6, in my favor.
It was a very close game. I think what gave me the win was Grimbardun Smith's Immunity and my magic damage. It's difficult to say which was the better summoner choice though.
What do you all think about this game? Would you have done anything different? Let me know in the comments! Thank you for reading!!
