Cristiano Ronaldo has been an ever present figure for Real Madrid. When Bale left Tottenham for Real Madrid, back in 2013. The Welshman has paid his dues, so he deserved this spotlight to himself, seeing how he ravaged Inter Milan defense with an amazing Hat-trick, back in 2012. He wanted some attention for his exploits and we can all understand that.
He got to Real Madrid and the media were interested to see what will happen with Ronaldo, because he love the limelight too. Ronaldo was just outshining him every time. Bale inconsistency and injuries played another vital part too.
Cristiano Ronaldo continued with this. Bale came into Madrid earning a whooping 300,000 pounds a week. We all know Cristiano loves the limelight and wouldn't want anyone to overshadow him. He has that in Lionel Messi already, in the league, so he wouldn't want another, especially not in Real Madrid, and that is why you will see Benzema literally pass the ball to him, even when he has the goal at his mercy hahaha (jokes).
As a Manchester United fan, it is natural for me to like Cristiano Ronaldo, in fact, i love him and wouldn't hide that fact, but i like stating the obvious, leaving sentiments aside most times. He loves attention and limelight, as evident with several threats he has given about his leaving Real Madrid in order to get more bumper pay and being talked about. Remember when Lionel Messi got a bumper rise? Noticed that several months after, he threw tantrum until he got his as well.
Now, his ill timed post match analysis has given people another reason to talk about him for a longer while again, even when he didn't influence much in the final with Liverpool, and the person who suffer more is Gareth Bale this time.
Gareth has been hoping to get his moment and attention, which was evident with how he celebrated his wonder goals.
Cristiano still has a long term contract with Real Madrid, with a buy out clause of $1 billion, for a 33 year old. So, you will understand this effort by him is to bring the limelight back to himself, so people can talk about him and his future for a longer time. This is ill timed and he admitted in the second interview he had, where he said he shouldn't have, and he is not trying to take focus away from their history making moment. We all know he eventually did. Ronaldo is a smart man.
Every time Bale tried to get his moment, it doesn't last that much. Remember i said in my last post yesterday that, if it was Ronaldo who scored that wonder goal, we would keep hearing about it for weeks, and months. It was the focus on Karius that tried to take Bale's moment away from him, with also the Sergio Ramos' wrestle with Salah, which ultimately gave him a shoulder injury, that might rule him out of World Cup for Egypt.
Now, the attention seeking man has done it again for Bale. Is Bale really that unfortunate?
