There are lots of wonderful places to visit in Estonia! Now it is difficult to believe that there was time when we could easily travel all the world. This covid pandemic era changed our lives completely. We often cannot leave our homes freely, to say nothing about taking our children somewhere for excursion. Well, luckily, I managed to take my class (twice !!!) to such a wonderful place as our Estonian Science Centre AHHAA.
This post is about our first trip three years ago. It was so interesting that the children asked me to take them there again a year later, so I am going to tell you about this place in two posts.
From the picture above, you can see how interested my hyperactive boys and girls were - they look so calm while listening to instructions! But inside, their energy found lots of places to be activated.
This Centre AHHAA is located in the second largest city of Estonia - in Tartu.
It has lots of permanent exhibitions and attractions to have fun for both children and adults. Not only schools take children there, families also come and spend a day in the Centre. Surprises are waiting for visitors from the first steps. And it is literally - near the entrance turnstile I could see myself like this:
Is not it a dream of any woman to look at a mirror and to see yourself so slim, or for a boy - how wonderful it is to see yourself muscular and mighty!
Among permanent exhibitions, our favourite is the Hall of Technology. There you can experience some breathtaking moments like being taken up to the ceiling on a turning pole or ride the bicycle very high above the hall.
I must say that this trick is really frightening. I have six boys in my class who play for junior football clubs on a serious level but only one of them felt as brave as to take that ride!
You can also see what is inside a microwave and many other home appliances or take a picture of yourself with a balloon bursting wich will be sent to your email address.
You can also pretend you are a fire engine driver and do a lot of other exciting things. I have to hide the children's faces when they are very clear - in accordance with our country rules - so sorry for that
I have said that the Hall of Technology is our class's favourite but there is also a Hall of Nature, a Lobby and much more places with permanent and temporary exhibitions.
For example, in the Lobby you can see your reflection in distorting mirrors and go through the mirror maze. It was not easy at all to find the way through it!
Finally, we took part in a workshop of Eye Surgery. Not easy for.my nerves, I must say.
After all, the hungry children refused to eat healthy food in the Centre but wanted to eat only from MacDonald's.
Then the way back home which took us about three hours but the children were so happy that time passed very fast. Nobody was disappointed and started asking me to go there again. I am sure you would love the AHHAA too.
I placed this post on the map of . Hope, this time everything is alright 🙂
