Prayer should be done with a clean heart and with respect to God. Prayer is from our heart and not by the kind of words we say while praying. A proper prayer begins with respect and honor to God, recognizing His power and holiness. Matthew 6:6 teaches believers to pray privately and honestly before God.
While praying we should always give thanks to God, ask for forgiveness of sins and his protection over our lives. Christians are encouraged to speak to God openly like a child speaks to a loving father.
Philippians 4:6 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
