We don't just read the bible as an ordinary book, we should read it with meditation and understanding with the help of the holy spirit and that's why we must start with the new testament because it may take a long time for us to digest it and understand it better. The old testament contains the teachings of Moses so reading it first before the new testament will make us more confused, and that's why we have to read the new testament first in other to understand the connection between the new and old testament. Most of the words used in the new testament was originated from the old testament, and for us to understand the bible very well we have to read the new testament first.
This teaching encourages us as christians to read the bible with meditation through the help of the holy spirit, starting from the new testament for us to understand the Bible better and also understand the love of God for us.
