Tutto è iniziato da un contest su Steemit in cui dovevo disegnare un personaggio con una precisa palette di colori. La palette mi ha ricordato i lavori di Roger Dean, di cui sono una grandissima appassionata. Tuttavia, per qualche motivo, avevo voglia di disegnare una bambina... personaggio molto distante dagli alieni di Roger Dean, ma avevo in mente qualcosa di più realistico.

It all started with a Steemit contest about having to draw a character with a given color palette. The palette reminded me of the work of Roger Dean, of whom I am a great admirer. However, for some reason, I wanted to draw a little girl... a very distant character from Roger Dean's aliens, but I had something more realistic in mind.
Non c'è molto da dire sul processo di realizzazione, molto standard questa volta. Trovo utile però, prima di iniziare la pittura vera e propria, disegnare tutti quanti gli ingombri a colori piatti, per decidere la composizione generale.
There is not much to say about the painting process, very standard at this time. I find it useful, however, before starting the actual painting, to lay down all the flats to decide the overall composition.
Un piccolo appunto sul cielo: quando ho una prospettiva centrale, mi piace usare, sulle nuvole e sul cielo, il filtro Sfocatura zoom di Photoshop per accentuare maggiormente la prospettiva.
A small note on the sky: when I have a central perspective, I like to use, for the clouds and the sky, the Photoshop Zoom blur filter to accentuate the perspective.
Se nell'immagine c'è un soggetto di dimensioni relativamente piccole, anche le forme dovranno essere il più sintetiche possibile. Inserire troppi dettagli è inutile se non controproducente per la corretta interpretazione dell'immagine. Se faccio zoom sul ritratto, si nota quanto sia approssimativo rispetto al risultato finale.
If in the image there is a subject of relatively small dimensions, the forms must also be as synthetic as possible. Adding too many details is useless if not counterproductive for the correct interpretation of the image. If I zoom in on the portrait, you can see how approximate it is compared to the final result.
