The revolution starts at home.
For some.
For many.
For me.
The Revolution starts by raising my children well. Mind, body, and spirit.
That starts with me. Taking care of me. Mind, body, and spirit. It moves to taking care of my relationship with my spouse, mind, body, and spirit.
It means cutting out the things that make living well harder - television, media, sedentary living, junk food, negative people, schooling, authoritarianism, violence, debt, consumerist thinking, ideological thinking.
It means bringing in more of what makes life worth living - vitality, nature, love, connection, challenge, spirit, presence, being, trust, respect, feeling.
It means dealing with my addictions, my character flaws, my shadows, my fears.
It means getting closer to nature, trusting my child, and indulging their evolutionary, developmental, need for connection, love, and attachment.
It means questioning how things are done. It means turning stones over that I don't want to. It means sacrificing what makes me feel comfortable and makes my life easier. It means feeling out of place and out of time.
It means my life is better. It means feeling more - both the good and the hard. It means seeing more - the world, the people, myself.
It means that I must show my children how to live well.
It means that I must slow down so that my children can see how to live well.
It means that I must step back so that they can live and learn to live well.
My revolution starts at home. For a peaceful, healthy, loving, connected future. It starts with me.
