Un gran saludo a toda la comunidad de HIVE MOTORS Aquí estoy por acá para seguir compartiendo con ustedes todas esas experiencia relacionadas con la mecánica automotriz, les confieso que estaba ansioso de volver a publicar en esta comunidad, bueno mis amigos, hoy les traigo una interesante experiencia que se que a ustedes les va a gustar porque estoy seguro que será de mucha utilidad para los que poseen carros, se trata de la reparación del eleva vidrio del carro.
La verdad es que los eleva vidrios con el tiempo suelen fallar, a veces las fallas ocurren cuando la guaya se traba en el carrete por la suciedad, otras veces es por desgaste del pequeño engranaje del motor, también falla cuando los botones del control del mando se dañan pero con mucho más frecuencia dejan de funcionar, cuando los carbones del motor se desgastan, lo cierto es que cuando este mecanismo de la puerta falla, hay que que revisar todos esos componentes que les he mencionado.
Les cuento que desde hace varias semanas, cuando intentaba bajar o subir el vidrio de la ventanilla de la puerta, a veces funcionaba y otras veces no, y para que funcionara tenia que darle un pequeño golpe a la puerta o abrirla y cerrarla para que el mecanismo de la puerta volviera a funcionar, lo cual me indicaba que había un problema con el motor del eleva-vidrio, lo cual falla es muy común cuando los carbones del motor se desgastan, por lo que no tuve dudas en pensar en que tenia que reemplazar los carbones de dicho motor.

Well, my friends, today I bring you an interesting experience that I know you'll like because I'm sure it will be very useful for car owners: repairing a car's power window.
The truth is that power windows tend to fail over time. Sometimes, the failures occur when the cable gets stuck in the reel due to dirt; other times, it's due to wear on the small motor's gears; they also fail when the control buttons are damaged; but much more frequently, they stop working altogether when the motor brushes wear out. In fact, when this door mechanism fails, it's necessary to check all the components I've mentioned.
I wanted to let you know that for several weeks now, when I tried to raise or lower my car window, sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. To get it working, I had to bang on the door or open and close it repeatedly for the mechanism to work again. This indicated to me that there was a problem with the window motor, a very common issue when the motor brushes wear out. So I didn't hesitate to replace them.

Ayer decidí retirar todo el mecanismo del eleva vidrio de la puerta del carro para tratar de repararlo, luego de retirarlo desarmé el motor e inmediatamente pude observar que los carbones estaban muy desgastados, así que procedí a retirarlos para que sirvieran de muestra, aunque es difícil conseguirlos del mismo tamaño, pero se pueden comprar unos carbones que sean un poquito más grandes, porque esos se pueden rebajar con una lija hasta conseguir el tamaño requerido o ideal.
Yesterday I decided to take apart the entire window regulator mechanism in my car door to try and repair it. After disassembling it, I removed the motor and immediately noticed that the carbon brushes were very worn. So I removed them to use as a sample when I went to buy replacements. Although it's difficult to find them in the exact same size, you can buy slightly larger carbon brushes, as they can be sanded down to the desired or ideal size.
Bueno mis amigos, a continuación les mostraré parte del proceso de esta reparación con la idea de que ustedes también lo puedan hacer en su carro cuando se les presente una situación similar, la verdad es que es bastante sencillo cambiar los carbones, creo que lo más difícil es atreverse a hacerlo, así que si en algún momento el vidrio de la puerta de su carro deja de funcionar, no se preocupen, lo más seguro es que se hayan gastados los carbones, estos carbones cuestan 4 dólares el par y ustedes mismos los pueden reemplazar.
Well, my friends, next I'll show you part of the repair process so you can do it on your car too when you encounter a similar situation. The truth is, changing the carbon brushes is quite simple; I think the hardest part is daring to do it. So, if your car window ever stops working, don't worry, it's most likely that the carbon brushes have worn out. These brushes cost $4 a pair, and you can replace them yourself.

Lo primero que hare, es retirar la carcasa del motor, esta carcasa es la que posee los campos imantados del motor, para hacer esto solo hay que retirar tres tornillos y listo, al retirar la mencionada carcasa veremos el el rotor del motor el cual lo retiramos girándolo a la derecha y enseguida sale, luego retiramos la tapa que posee los porta carbones.
The first thing I will do is remove the motor housing. This housing contains the motor's magnetic fields. To do this, you only need to remove three screws, and that's it. Upon removing the housing, you will see the motor rotor, which you remove by turning it to the right, and it will come out immediately. Then, remove the cover that holds the brush holders.

Una vez que hemos retirados los tornillos ya podemos retirar la carcasa, el rotor y la tapa superior que posee los porta carbones, tal y como se muestra en la siguiente imagen:

Las Delgas del rotor se ven llenas se hollín o restos de carbón. / The rotor commutator segments appear full of soot or carbon residue.

Esta tapa también posee el conector del arneses, para retirarla solo le hacemos un poquito de presión y listo, miren..

La verdad es que los carbones estaban muy desgastados, por lo que hay que reemplazarlos, pero antes es importante limpiar todos los componentes del eleva vidrio, incluye las delgas del rotor, el riel y la guaya, para hacer esta limpieza voy a usar un spray limpia contactos.
The truth is that the carbon brushes were very worn, so they need to be replaced, but first it is important to clean all the components of the window regulator, including the rotor segments, the rail and the cable. To do this cleaning I am going to use a contact cleaner spray.
Bueno amigos ya todas las piezas están limpias, así que ahora comenzaré a colocar los carbones, lamentablemente no pude conseguir unos carbones iguales, solo conseguí unos carbones más grandes, pero por eso no tuve problemas, porque poco a poco los fui rebajando con una lija y quedaron bien.
Well friends, all the parts are clean now, so I'll start putting the carbon brushes in. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the exact same brushes, I only found some larger ones, but that wasn't a problem because I gradually sanded them down and they turned out fine.
- Voy a quitar los carbones y los porta carbones, para ello tengo que cortar el alambre de cada carbón, procurando dejar un pedazo de alambre en la soldadura, voy a hacer esto porque es más fácil soldar el alambre con el alambre, que el alambre con el metal.
- I'm going to remove the carbon brushes and the brush holders. To do this, I have to cut the wire from each brush, making sure to leave a piece of wire in the solder joint. I'm going to do this because it's easier to solder wire to wire than wire to metal.
Estos son los carbones que logre conseguir, como podrán ver son bastante largos, así que los voy a rebajar con lija hasta conseguir el tamaño ideal:

Bueno mis amigos, los carbones quedaron muy bien, déjenme decirles que la mayoría de las veces cuando abrimos la pequeña tapa del porta carbón, esta se parte cuando intentamos cerrarla, pero por ese detalle no se preocupen, eso se puede solucionar colocando nuevamente la pequeña tapa con pegamento epoxi y se sujeta con una cinta adherible y listo, a continuación voy a colocar la tapa que posee los carbones sobre el rotor y la carcasa:
Well my friends, the carbon brushes turned out very well. Let me tell you that most of the time when we open the small cover of the brush holder, it breaks when we try to close it. But don't worry about that, it can be solved by putting the small cover back on with epoxy glue and securing it with adhesive tape, and that's it. Bueno mis amigos, antes de colocar el motor en el riel, primero voy a realizar una prueba la cual consiste en suministrarle corriente al motor, para ello voy a utilizar un transformador de 12 voltios: (GIF)
