In the Bay Area (San Francisco, San Jose, etc), things are getting worse as smoke from wine country wildfires continues to pile on over here.
During these times, it is advised not to go outside too much and to limit physical activity. If you're in a very affected area such as San Francisco, attempt to flee to a building with circulating AC or places such as art museums. Many are attempting to take trains from those areas to less affected ones.
The smoke cover will still stay for a few days, so be safe! Wear an N95 respiratory mask (circular face mask) for protection. Do not simply wear a surgical mask.
Surgical masks are meant to keep your germs and inside air inside the mask. They do not keep outside air and toxins from entering.
Try checking the air quality index and information at https://airnow.gov from time to time.
