In the book of John 8 vs 34, it says that;

Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

There are several unbelievers roaming about with a strong stench of sin and bondage but so also are the believers at times who allow sin to get hold of them at times. How does this come about? Several believers not only sin but also have a fertile seed of unforgiveness in their heart which eventually grows to bring them into bondage which they now find theirselves.

Nonetheless, we have a saviour in Christ Jesus who can cleanse all from all manners of sins and free those who are oppressed from bondage and destruction. But How can we achieve this feat? It is quite easy. The following 6 ways are methods we can use to break free from spiritual bondage.

Continually Renew Your Mind With God's Word

Looking critically at the incident that happened in the book of Luke 4 vs 1-13, it says;

It is no longer news that the Bible was given to humanity not to only increase in Knowledge but also to change lives. The word of God is like a mirror which we must use to examine our lives. Likewise, it is a powerful tool you can dwell on, if you are passing through bondage.
Looking critically at the incident that happened in the book of Luke 4 vs 1-13, it says;

And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.
3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.
4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:
10 For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:
11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season

Imagine this in another way that Jesus knew no scripture to reply the devil! It therefore means that the devil will have won the battle there right?. Oh yeas that is the truth. This means that as believers we need to costantly renew and refresh our minds with the word of God as it will make us prepare for the troubles, oppression and temptations ahead.

Do you strive to leave the stronghold of the evil ones? Do you strive to break free from the oppression of the evil ones, then of course you need to continously feed on the word of God. There is high need to even learn some memory verses that we can easily trow at the devil anything he comes.

Be Prayerful

The importance of prayers cannot be overemphasized. Prayers does a lot more than we even imagine at times. If you are in any form of spiritual bondage or any form of sin is trying to hod you down, or you are stuggling with a particular habit which has refused to let you be, then you must learn how to pray prayers that work effectively. In this case, you have to pray tirelessly without ceasing. Once you do this, there is absolutely no need to be afraid any longer because you are already on your way to freedom

Learn To Bring Others To The Awesome Love of Christ

It is also very necessary to bring more souls to the kingdom. But How dos this help you break free drom spiritual bondage?. Simple!. As you go around preaching the love of Christ to as many that you have come in cotact with, the love of Christ multiplies in your heart and then you have boldness to fight the oppression and intimidation of the devil. Doing this will help to reduce the populace of the agent of darkness as you are continously winning more soulds to Christ.

The Truth Will Set You Free | Know The Truth

In your quest for freedom from oppression and breaking free from spiritual bondage, there is high need to know the truth. When the truth is brought to limelight in your heart, you are matching majestically already to your freedom. Another important thing to note here is that is will be a waste of time, energy and effort to come to the knowledge of this truth and still not apply it. It is just like you know that taking panadol will cure your headache but you still refuse to take it. The headache will only remain. It is not enough to learn the truth alone, making it a practice in your life is what matters most.

Have A Repentent Heart

It is no doubt that the situation you may have found yourself may be as a result of some decisions you have taken in the past. However, whatever it may be, if you want to be truly free, there is enormous need to come back to Jesus with a repentant heart. There is need to show absolute humility and repentance to the sins you have committed. Doing this will make the load/burden in your heart to drastically reduce. You have to come back to Jesus and pledge your loyalty to Him and the teachings of His word. This step is very important if we want to be free from spiritual bondage.

Renounce

The Cambridge English Dictionary defines "Renounce" as to say formally or publicly that you no longer own, support, believe in, or have a connection with something. It is however very important to note the difference between renouncing and repenting at this point. While renouncing is usually directed to the enemy, your repentance is usually directed to our Saviour. You need to boldy speak into the atmosphere and renounce every ill word or negative word you have accepted before that has put you initially perpetually in spiritual bondage. Whatever form of agreement you have made prior to this time is being renounced totally. Locking the devil out of your life completely is what renounciation is all about. Once you have successfully done this, the devil loses his grip on you and you are set on a path of total freedom.
